SIGNAL HILL MOTEL

So I knew when booked this stay it wasn’t going to be a spa like 5star hotel and I was ok with that. I’ve often stayed in 2/3 star places bc I just need a cheap place to sleep on my trip. But…. Just want to warn future bookers….at first check in the lady was uninviting. Like she didn’t like her job. Then the room was the second from the street. Not a big deal just hard to park. The room smelled like fabulouso but they definitely didn’t clean much. The tub was filthy. Black hair everywhere and globs of conditioner. The floors were dirty and sticky. We never walked around barefoot because of it. I actually went the next day and bought a swifter mop to mop the floors myself and the pads were gross. The bedsheets were so thin there were holes in them and they were see through. In order to get more toilet paper you have to go to someone else’s room and ask for it. Awkward. Walls are thin and no one in the area seems to sleep. I can sleep through a lot but for some reason I felt uneasy there so I was paranoid the whole time. My daughter and I left a day early because of it. If you are just passing thru and looking for a cheap place to sleep this is good for it but to stay and feel comfortable not so much. It did have a fridge and microwave so I was able to keep the food we traveled with and bought food for the trip cold.

Stayed 9 nights and the room was never cleaned.

Tv didnt work, theyve got 1 room permanently occupied by their "maintenance/cleaner" person, which was a sketchy couple looking like they do drugs. Not enough parking for every room, they have parking spit inches from the door of the hotel making you squeeze yourself out to get padt a car to/from your door. Really uncomfortable. All in all a sketchy place, rude lady at the front office which seems connected to their living quarters. It was just wierd for the $100 price. This is like a $40-60 a night kind of place l, not the $100 I paid for.

my room key is not working door lock system needs replacement and i needed to knock to the managers room to open my room.

Loved The property love the staff. However, the property manager/owner is inappropriate and rude. But The family who runs the place and live in office they are wonderful.

The place is cute and sits in a busy commercial area where food and stores are comfortably nearby. However, the parking spots are not room assigned thus you have to park in front of someone else’s room so, it’s a little odd. And, although the rooms are clean on the surface they are in desperate need for a deep cleaning. Overall, the place is nice and comfortable.

TV didn't work in the room and the room while clean did not have any towels. An attempt was made to fix the TV but ended up switching rooms. The second was nicer-updated. No ice machine. While managers tried to make our stay pleasant it could have been better.

There is noisy traffic on the busy Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) until late into the evening. The walls are thin so you hear into the next room. It's roomy and the bed is comfortable. I could not figure out how to change channels on the remote I was handed when I checked in. It should have been a no-brainer.

It was a rainy evening, the shower did not work. The bath tub drain could not be closed to take a bath. The front door did not seal and rain water came into the room over night.

This is the worst place we've stay at in all my travels. Expedia shouldn't allow it to be list on it's website. Aside from being dirty and disgusting, it's dangerous. We had booked 2 nights but checked out after the first night out of concern for our safety.
