Áurea Toledo

When planning our trip to Toledo we thought we’d prioritise the hotel’s location over all of the other stuff we tend to lookout for. We chose the Aurea Toledo as it was a stones throw from the Cathedral smack bang in the centre of the city. After just a short one night stop, all four members of our party were simply blown away with this hotel. It’s a very positive feel from the off when you check in, staff are professional, friendly and efficient and the reception area, comfortable and relaxing……ok an eagerly accepted free chilled glass of Cava may have helped things along, but it would have been rude to decline after all. The hotel itself has been built on the footprint of seven ancient townhouses so by nature its design is an eclectic warren of corridors surrounding a beautiful inner courtyard, navigating your way around isn’t as easy as it would be with a typical standard more modern hotel design but its quirkiness is most definitely its charm. The rooms are pretty wow, with a great bed, state of the art facilities and the room my missus and I frequented had, by a country mile, the best shower I’ve ever had the pleasure of standing under. On the morning of our departure we enjoyed a top quality, immaculately presented breakfast before we tootled off on our way. If I could be so bold, I’d like to offer up a small suggestion. The only thing missing in this hotel is a little bar area. Toledo is a fascinating and beautiful city but around the hotel’s side of the cathedral there appeared to be a distinct lack of watering holes to drop into if you fancied a nightcap. Maybe for its residents a hotel bar could provide a popular solution. All in all a definite 9/10.

Very, very nice front desk staff! As a solo female traveler, I felt very safe in this hotel and the surrounding area. The view from my room was absolutely stunning. I am really happy that I stayed here!

We had a wonderful three night stay at the beautiful Aurea Toledo while exploring the magical city of Toledo! We received a warm greeting from Kelvin and Nazaret at reception who gave us information about attractions and restaurants. The designers and architects of the hotel should be commended for the preservation of the historical elements while building a thoroughly modern hotel. Our room was very comfortable with all desirable amenities. The breakfast room is lovely, although the breakfast items are quite standard. Many thanks to all of the wonderful, hard-working, staff, who made our stay, unforgettable!

The best hotel experience to date. Very proper and attentive personnel. The hotel has unique historic features. The scent used at the lobby was strong and very similar to other hotels, which could be improved to be a unique experience. Would recommend 200%!
