Babohi exceeded all of our expectations. From the friendly staff who always went above and beyond, the beautifully spacious rooms to the most divine food - everything was 5 Stars. We thouroughly enjoyed our game drives with our game ranger Joe, we managed to see 4/5 big five and the morning amarula coffees and gin sundowners were also a treat. We also enjoyed our massages at their spa. It really was the most memorable stay.

It’s a far away escape

Quiet and relaxed

We came for our honeymoon after getting married in Franschhoek a few days before and it was the perfect spot to relax and just spend some time together. The Property - The scenery is amazing. Great views from the pool area and the design and aesthetics are modern luxury. We stayed in their entry level rooms and it was a large room, very comfortable bed and everything you needed. Food & Drinks - Outstanding! I found the quantity too much but that’s because I have a smaller appetite. You will not go hungry! The food was very very good. Everything we tried was excellent. Game Drives - We had 4 nights so lots of amazing game drives to look forward to. Our guide Joe was brilliant. We saw 4/5 of the big 5 and plenty more with some pretty special lion & elephant encounters. Staff - Highlight and an asset to the lodge. We were treated like royalty here. They really look after you well. Fredrick is particular made sure we were always well taken care of.

In terms of feedback a few things to note to make it 10/10 - 1.) We mentioned on the notes it was our honeymoon and they replied that they’d arrange something special for us. That didn’t end up transpiring. It’s not a huge deal as they look after you very well anyway but the hotel we stopped at for one night in Joburg went all out - champagne in room, rose petals all over, cakes and congratulations messages so it was a bit disappointing they didn’t acknowledge it especially given the price difference in the two hotels. 2.) The pool is heated but it’s hot! It’s more of a hot tub. Suggestion for summer months would be to turn the heat down slightly so it’s still pleasant but a bit more refreshing for a hot day. 3.) The dirt road does require a high vehicle. We hired a transfer so luckily didn’t have to tackle it ourselves and would recommend that.
