Lovely cottage, warm friendly atmosphere

Sleeping accommodation a little tight

A wonderful location in the heart of the Peak District, where you can truly connect with nature. A historic building full of character.

Although the house had character, unfortunately it was dirty. Right upon entering, there were spiders and hanging cobwebs on the kitchen walls — I have a phobia and am very afraid of spiders. The kitchen was well equipped, but overall the walls were dirty. The worst part was that in the bedrooms, even though there were two pillows on the bed, the spare pillow had a pillowcase that clearly hadn’t been changed in a long time. There were several hairs on it, it looked dirty and smelled bad. Thankfully, the bedsheets were clean, but the mattresses were not very comfortable. There were also many artificial flower decorations covered in cobwebs. The location is great, but the place seriously needs a deep clean.

Beautiful setting, super cute cottage and nice touch with a welcoming packet of choccie biccies!

The only negative thing is navigating the ramp to park the car, you can only do it from one direction

Comfy cottage with lots of facilities in the kitchen, and a nice pub with good food a short walk away.

Parking a little awkward for 2 cars but we managed it.

It is a beautiful character cottage with everything you could need. Lovely cosy sitting areas, well equipped kitchen & comfy beds. The modern heaters worked well and the cottage was lovely and warm. I took my 80yo mum and our 3 dogs for a night. A sweet courtyard garden at the front where we sat in the sun ( didn’t leave the dogs in the garden by themselves due to the road being on the other side of the low wall - but not a problem at all) . A bottle of milk in the fridge plus packet of biscuits was a welcome treat when we arrived. Great communication between owners and ourselves. It was a perfect stay with everything we’d hoped for.
