The Milking Shed at Pencraig

Location was brilliant for attractions, lovely local pubs and chip shop. Hosts were informative prior to trip and very polite. Felt right at home during our 2 night stay.

A smart TV would be the only small improvement so you could connect to Netflix for a night time movie

It’s a barn so sort of expect it but it was pretty cold we even with the little log fire on whenever we were in plenty of wood was made available though. First time we have ever had to take our own towels somewhere. No brush, I always like to sweep up before we leave.

The milking shed was as advertised and looks lovely particularly in the evenings with the fairy lights on. However, we were dissapointed to find there were no towels, not even a hand towel. I felt the bedding was of poor quality also. Not good enough for the price of the stay. While we loved the log burner we ran out of logs on a three night stay as we had it going a lot. It was very cold (in January) the bathroom was freezing and we noticed a draught in the ceiling above the bed. Finally, the bathroom door was extremely stiff requiring you to lean on it to open and close the latch. With a couple of touches of luxury and slightly better communication from the vendor (how to check in and maybe some recommendations for the area) this could be a perfect Angelsey retreat.

Great little getaway for myself, my wife and our dogs. The place itself is finished to a really high standard and very cosy, especially when the log burner is on. The mezzanine is great and has a really comfy bed. The only thing that would have made it better is if the front area was fenced off with it being dog friendly however that certainly didnt ruin it for us. Would definitely recommend

Absolutely gorgeous property . Hosts welcoming . Picturesque area . However if your 6ft 6 like myself .Remember to duck ! This is an old building full oozing charm, low doors included. But well worth the 30 mins at A&E yesterday . Certainly booking again . Couldnt of asked for more .

The Milking Shed was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Ideal location if you want to get away from it all. Owners were friendly and spoke to us as we arrived. Make sure you bring your own towels as none are supplied, we had to go into Holyhead to buy some. Spiral stairs are quite tricky and wobbly.

Suggestion to provide towels or tell people they are not available beforehand. Only matches and larger logs available to put in log burner; no kindling or firelighters.

There were no personal touches, no towels, or shower gel no welcome pack, the property doesn’t over look a view as it says it does, it’s very dark and doesn’t have a private garden. The staff member was incredibly rude, and said because we borrowed a towel that they apparently had to throw away because it had dog hair on it 🤣 that we should leave a review. not sure this is the one they wanted! there was also some dog hair in the plug hole that was taken a huge offence too and also blamed us for a dog poo out side which wasn’t us. it was laughable really, because they promote being dog friendly but is far from the case. we cleaned the house but missed some dog hairs in the plug hole and dried our dog with a towel after he had a wash. But they are not considering that part of what you pay is cleaning and if it’s DOG friendly then that cleaning has to consider that.
