The property is beautiful, ancient, well maintained and in an excellent location in the city centre. We had excellent service from all the staff that we met and an excellent breakfast. I’m very glad that we booked to stay.

Perfection, staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and larger than expected. Food was perfect, and the hotel is just by far the best we have stopped in in York. Great place to stay.

Stunning venue, perfectly located. We had a fabulous weekend staying in the Fairfax room. Before the weekend was even over, we rebooked to return in September. Highly professional staff and stunning cuisine. Our new favourite place.

"Perfect"

Stunning historical hotel in the heart of York. Like living in another time. Everything about this place is amazing. We could easily have spent our entire York stay in the hotel but there is so much to see and do in York. I really hope that we can return to this hotel one day.
