Staff are very friendly and helpful. Access is limited,but there is level access through the fire doors. The bar is in a separate building with step access. Decor is shabby and very dated but the hotel is very clean and th toons comfortable. Shower had rails for ease of use. Breakfast was good and catered for allergies. Would recommend this hotel. There are family rooms too.
Whole place smelled musty. Reception person said could book me in because it was after 11pm, and couldn't see if any room was even available...on a Monday night. When asked where he recommended he suggested a 20 mile drive to Inverness to look around.
Just spent 5days at MacKay Hotel with coach trip. My husband and I enjoyed our stay , in one of the annex rooms. Only complaint was the high sided bath and shower. A bit awkward for us old yins. The food was great., too much at times. The bed linen was lovely and fresh, the staff were very friendly and helpful
AUThis hotel is quite old, the floorboards creak, the shower is over a fairly high bath, the shower rose collapses spraying water everywhere, however the bed linen is clean and crisp and there is an elevator! Staff are excellent and the cooked breakfast is great. It is located on the main road through the village so it can be fairly noisy and you can also hear the rooms next door. The curtains are not block out so when the sun is up, so are you. At dinner time we were just beaten to the deli restaurant opposite by a busload of Chinese tourists so we chose to eat in the hotel and it was a very pleasant surprise. £16.95 (approx AUD34) for a three course meal was great value.
