Nähe zum Zentrum, nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß, relativ ruhig gelegen, Blick zum See (nur kleiner Ausschnitt). Freundliche Reinigungskraft. Self-Check-In funktioniert ohne Probleme. Ansprechende Gästelounge im Ergeschoss mit nutzbarer Küche und sonnige Terrasse mit Gartenmöbel und Blick Richtung See.

Reinigung nur bei Zimmerwechsel. Frische Handtücher möglich, wenn man die Reinigungskraft zufällig antraf. Parken hinter dem Gebäude. Nur 3 Parkplätzen vorhanden, nicht reservierbar Zu- und Abfahrt zum Parkplatz sehr beengt. Keine Haltemöglichkeit vor dem Haupteingang. Vom Parkplatz am Hintereingang, Zutritt über 20 sehr steile und enge Stufen ins Erdgeschoss. Das Bad war eine Badkabine wie auf Fähren mit hoher Stufe an der Tür. Unser Zimmer im 1.Stock erreichbar über enge steile Treppe, kein Lift. Nicht für Personen mit körperlichen Einschränkungen geeignet.

The hosts had clearly tried hard to make the room welcoming, with tea and coffee in room, however we had some concerns during our stay.

It was £450 for a room with a double bed and a single bed and albeit a lake view. The first concern was that the room had been advertised with parking, when I arrived there were 3 spaces all filled. I phoned the host who informed me it was a first come first served basis but she could send me some places to park. I then saw this was all paid parking and it was not until I asked if i should complain through booking.com that she then offered to reimburse parking costs. Instructions were sent through regarding heating and it said to adjust the thermostat. The room was very cold and there was no thermostat. When I asked the host via message where this is, I had no reply for the remainder of our stay. There was one chair in a room for 3 people, and the room was quite worn and outdated. There was blood stains on the quilt, granted old blood but I feel this should be replaced. Other smaller issues are that the towels provided are small and there was no toiletries in the shower bottles.

The step into and out of the room and bathroom. Took a bit of getting used to. Aside from that - fab.

The Berry Boutique is very central to Bowness-on-Windermere. It is only a short walk down to the waters edge and can be seen from inside the property! Property is very comfortable and well maintained. The owners were super helpful and accommodating and allowed us an early check in to avoid the wet weather! Beds were comfortable and room was heated well. Good amount of floor space for storage of luggage.

The property was good, only thing was out of their hands that being loud shouting from other guests at night.

On a positive note, the location is excellent—very central and within walking distance of everything, which made exploring the city convenient and enjoyable.

I stayed at this hotel during spring when the UK was experiencing unusually warm weather, with temperatures reaching around 30°C. Unfortunately, the hotel was not prepared for these conditions. The room was extremely uncomfortable due to the heat and humidity. We were only provided with a very small desk fan, which looked like it cost no more than £10 and was clearly inadequate for cooling the room. We politely asked for an additional fan, but our request was refused. The cleaner/staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly. However, there was often a noticeable smell of cigarettes and alcohol, which negatively affected our experience. This is a boutique hotel with no on-site staff and a self-check-in system. Communication was handled entirely through WhatsApp, but there was no proper introduction or explanation of who was contacting us. Initially, I genuinely thought the messages were from a scammer and was close to blocking the number. Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the lack of adequate cooling, poor communication, and unpleasant odours made the stay disappointing.

Vicinity to Beatrix potter, Windermere jetty, restaurants and bars, shops

The Lakeview is from the bed but when you move towards the window you see ugly parking so don't look down just look up and focus at the lake and mountain. Also guests in the next BnB were so loud in mid of the night and it was so difficult to sleep. I was told to pick towels from a cupboard but it was so smelly that I didn't pick any. Also there was no shampoo or shower gel in the shower.
