The Stroud Hotel

I recently had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Stroud, and I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation. From the moment I arrived, the experience was seamless - check-in was quick and welcoming, thanks to the wonderful staff member (I believe his name was Charlie) who went above and beyond to make me feel at ease. My room was a haven of comfort - beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly peaceful. I slept better than I have in months! Every detail, from the plush bedding to the calming ambiance, made it the perfect space to unwind. The entire atmosphere of The Stroud is one of quiet luxury and genuine hospitality. It’s clear that guest comfort is a top priority here, and it truly shows in every interaction and thoughtful touch. I’m already looking forward to my next visit - The Stroud is now firmly at the top of my list for a relaxing and rejuvenating escape. Highly recommended!

Had such a lovely night away at The Stroud Hotel. Great service, amazing food, and a really warm, relaxed atmosphere. The team made us feel so welcome, and the whole place has a cool, stylish vibe without trying too hard. Can’t wait to go back.

The hotel was perfect for our needs, the only reason I didn't give it a 5 was the lack of air conditioning. The afternoon sun cooked the rooms even with the window open. We ended up propping the door open to try and get a breeze through the hallway. We knew it didn't have a/c but didn't appreciate how will the building is made to stay warm in winter. The breakfasts were just what we needed before our day trips. All the staff were excellent and always smiling. The location next the train station was perfect as well. We also managed to land a carpark each night as well. The rooms we had were clean and well appointed, the tv and wifi were great to use.

Bestilte morgenmad med - kostede 250 kr pr prs. Forventede derfor det helt store og ekstraordinære- men der var det ringeste udvalg og absolut kun det mest basale. Kaffen var tynd, præsentation af maden virkede meget tilfældig og betjeningen (1 prs) glemte os og glemte bestillingen. Har nok aldrig været præsenteret for ringere morgenbord end dette, så spild ikke penge på det.

We had a delicious meal there and the service was just great. All the stuff you’d expect but better. Good solid grub served with a smile. In fact, good service makes food taste better. The wine was delicious as well. you can park outside the door which is a joy.

Stumbled across this hotel when looking for a weekend away in the Cotswolds. What a gem of a find! We had a lovely welcome from Mike . The room was bright and spacious and the bathroom was a beautiful design. The breakfast covered anything you wanted and was served hot (a rarity these days). We strolled round the Farmers Market on Saturday. Dinner was delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. We were not intending to stay for Sunday lunch but had been so impressed with the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff we treated ourselves to it and it did not disappoint!! We will definitely return in the Autumn for another weekend.

I went with my husband and was able to bring my small dog too for a 2 night stay. We arrived by train which was very convenient. Location is perfect for walking my dog along the canal and into the fields, close to town. Room was perfect, comfy bed and clean. Staff were extremely helpful and the restaurant where we ate for both nights was excellent with great options.

Very convenient location, relatively quiet (for being over a pub/restaurant. Parking is cheap. Gentle walk to shops and restaurants. We were impressed by welcoming staff, with particular call-out to Issy and Josh in bar/restaurant - absolutely wonderful service! We had a nice stay and accessed wonderful day trips to wonders of The Cotswolds!
