This is a very unique hotel a lot of original features . A short walk to the 5 locks on the Leeds to Liverpool canal

Great value, no license so BYOB, big rooms

Wow, what a great old builing and very friedly staff. It was a please to sleep here.

Beautiful hotel, lovely spacious room, very friendly and helpful staff

Location was good. The bed we slept in was terrible, propped up with wooden blocks & very uncomfortable. Shower very slow. Reception unmanned most of the time. However did not spoil our 2 night stay too much. More professional management input needed to succeed.

Lovely old property with lots of charm, clean and comfortable. Only issue was no full English breakfast offered just a basic continental.

Staff were friendly and very polite, but seemed short-staffed. Room was lovely, big and very clean. However, the hotel advertises family rooms with cots. After some confusion when we arrived (we were initially told on arrival that they don't have any cots), a cot was eventually found. That was all ok, but the next morning when we went to breakfast we discovered there were no highchairs and a member of staff told us they don't have any. So I had to feed my 1.5 yr old on my lap. It wasn't the end of the world, but if you're travelling with babies or toddlers I'd consider that, before booking.
