A nice blast from the past as I used to visit this place in the 70s when it was the go to nightclub.

A little bit old fashioned but everything worked fine and it was clean and presentable.

If you want a quiet location for a short break,you wont go wrong at all. Nice hotel, friendly and professional staff. Continental breakfast was very good.

What a stunning old house. The night porter Matt told us about its history when we checked in - built for the family of a mill owner in 1864, and since they relinquished it, it's been various things - a night club and then since the 1980s a hotel. Stunning outside and wood paneled inside, I got vaguely obsessed with the stained glass window on the stairs - made for the house, and so clearly influenced by the trends of its time - Pre Raphaelites etc The family room at the top of the house was comfortable and spacious, though on a hot and humid night it was hard to cool down (limited opportunity to open windows). The breakfast was simple - coffee/tea, toast and a small selection of juices/yoghurt/cheese and ham. We were very happy with our stay

Hotel looks lovely on entry but my room not good tiny little sky light 3 dead wasps on floor and tv about as big as a phone so not the best breakfast was free so cant grumble

A pleasant overnight stay with excellent continental breakfast.

Nice room comy bed but after booking and paying on check in to be told no chef so no food available in the evening and only a continental on offer ?

Great hotel and very reasonably priced. Beds were comfortable, good breakfast and staff were very accommodating.
