What can I say about Riad Al Ibtikar? Honestly, just wow! From the moment we arrived the level of hospitality we received was unbeatable. Steven is a wonderful host, he made us feel so at home and gave us lots of advice about how to get the most out of our trip. The riad itself is stunning, care and thought have been put into every detail, it is a remarkably beautiful and peaceful space. The Riad is located in the medina, but as soon as you step inside it is a sea of calm away from the mad rush outside. We rented three rooms and each was designed with its own beautiful style and vibe. We could chose what time we wanted breakfast and the lovely Hamid served us a delicious feast each morning. Steven, Hamid and Fatima are all so lovely and took care of us so well. I couldn’t rate it higher. Thank you so much for creating a wonderful experience for us, if you have the chance to go to Marrakesh I could not recommend a better place to stay!

Great location, close to an award winning restaurant, the host could not do enough for us, up early for breakfast, gave us a packed lunch. Helped us organise tours, overall a great Riad which I would go back to again. The roof terrace is beautiful, and a nice place to rest after a day of exploring.

I'm truly glad I chose to stay at this accommodation. I was especially impressed by the hospitality of the staff, particularly the owner, Steven. I stayed for four nights, and despite being a special and unique place, it felt as comfortable as being at home. The room had warm, pleasant lighting, and every floor—from the lounge area on the first floor, to the rooms on the second floor, and even the rooftop—was cozy and inviting. Transportation One of the most impressive aspects of my stay was the transportation arranged through the hotel—it was incredibly convenient. As with many riads in the Medina, this one is located within narrow alleyways, where cars can't access directly. However, the hotel provided a smooth and thoughtful service: in addition to the taxi, a man with a cart walked about 10 minutes from the drop-off point to deliver my suitcase straight to the riad. Surprisingly, the price may have even been lower than a standard taxi fare just to the nearest accessible point. On top of that, when my flight to Marrakech was unexpectedly delayed on the day of arrival, Hamid responded quickly and efficiently, handling the updated schedule and helping me connect with the driver at the airport without any stress. I was really grateful for their flexibility and support. Breakfast The breakfast at the riad was another highlight. It featured Moroccan breads and pancake-like dishes, and a different side dish was served each morning, keeping it interesting and enjoyable throughout my stay. Atmosphere and Conversations One of the most memorable parts of my experience was enjoying a bottle of wine in the lounge area and having warm, engaging conversations with the owner, Steven, as well as Hamid and Yassin. In particular, Steven shared stories from his life’s journey that truly inspired me. It turned what could have simply been a pleasant stay into something much more meaningful—an experience I’ll remember for a long time.

This riad offers a unique atmosphere with traditional decor beautifully curated by Steven. The exceptional hospitality and delicious local cuisine create a truly memorable experience. It’s a tranquil retreat in the heart of the medina, giving you the feeling of having your own private home away from the city’s energy. I especially appreciated the cleanliness, the helpful and flexible staff, and the beautiful rooftop. I give this property a perfect 10 out of 10! Thank you for the experience!

Authentic Riad superbly decorated with the owners own designed fixtures, set in a central location within the hustle and bustle of the Medina although once inside it was quiet and peaceful. There is a nice roof garden sitting area which is ideal for relaxing.
