perfect location, not too close to tourist places such as the night market, but close to most places that you wanna go. Lounge has a perfect long working bench for those who wanna enjoy sitting there working with their laptop and watching the forest on the other side

i would be happier if they offer some sort of dry cleaning services

Great location, comfy beds with own light, charging point and curtain for privacy. I liked the lockers and general security, and the free water. Self check-in was pretty straightforward.

The dorm room was a touch small but no big deal. Also just three toilets which are right near reception, so a bit out in the open! The front desk is only manned between 9 and 6 so when we ran out of toilet paper there was no one to ask until morning - but a minor thing.

Overall it was a fantastic experience! The hostel is well-maintained, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere. The bathroom was impressively clean, which is always a big plus for me. The hostel provides essential amenities like 2in1 shampoo with body wash, and even towels, so you don't have to worry about bringing your own. Another great feature is the simple breakfast provided by the hostel, along with unlimited water and coffee, such a nice touch for the guests. It's clear that the staff has thought of almost everything to make guests feel at home.

I had a lovely stay at Jiran Hostel. It’s a quiet and peaceful place, perfect for relaxing for a few days while visiting Kota Kinabalu. The staff member, was incredibly helpful and kind, which made my stay even more enjoyable. One of the best things about this hostel is its location — it’s close to everything, especially the Jesselton Jetty for island hopping. There are also plenty of eateries nearby. I would definitely come back again!

The bed was super comfortable, and the pillows came in a set of two with a thick, cozy duvet — honestly, it felt even better than my bed at home! Haha!
