Celestial Hills - Villas & Suites by The Clarks

I strongly like the location and villa design. The view is incredible too. The food was very good especially the pizza. I will never forget this vacation. The Only down side, cleaning needs to be more detailed and they should install heater for the pool.

To be honest there is nothing that i was unhappy with during our stay

While the staff was friendly enough and the dinner was the only meal that was edible, several issues made my stay far less enjoyable than it should have been. The best part was when we finally left.

I had high expectations for Celestial Hotel, but unfortunately, it did not live up to its luxury branding. First, the amenities were lacking. The pool isn’t heated, and surprisingly, there were no pool loungers—where are guests supposed to relax? Even small details, like providing slippers and proper-sized robes, were overlooked. The only option was pool flip-flops (which I already had), and the waffle robes were oddly small, almost child-sized. Even more shocking for a hotel of this level—no conditioner in the bathroom and no utensils to stir coffee in the morning. Additionally, the hotel feels oddly worn for a new property. There was mold on the window shades, which raises concerns about maintenance. I also experienced renovation noise, so if you’re expecting a peaceful stay, be prepared for some disruptions. The location is quite inconvenient, far from Kandy town. If you're planning to explore, you must arrange your own driver, as tuk-tuk drivers in the area tend to overcharge tourists. My husband and I were told by the staff that we could hire a driver from PickMe, but that is simply false. Hours were wasted waiting around for a car, negotiating with tuk tuk drivers, only to be driven in the wrong direction. I had even asked for transportation to be arranged beforehand, but the staff said it would be ok, and it just was not. Another unexpected concern—gunshots could be heard from the balcony (hunting, perhaps?), which was unsettling. Overall, Celestial Hotel has the potential to be a true luxury destination, but right now, it’s far from it. If you’re considering booking, I’d recommend looking elsewhere unless these issues are addressed.

I really appreciated the calm and quiet atmosphere of the property. It offered a sense of tranquility that made for a truly relaxing stay. The hotel itself was well-maintained and provided a peaceful environment, perfect for unwinding and enjoying a restful experience.

Everything was beautiful. The room, the view, the pool, the food, the staff. We enjoyed our time there and found it peaceful and relaxing. You could sit out and look at the view for hours - with the changing light of the day. The stars were pretty incredible too, after the sun went down. The Sri Lankan food was delicious; their chef did a wonderful job, and all the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

My only complaint was that it was a long way from Kandy, a lot longer than we realised. This made it difficult to get to Kandy for the day and back. But being far away from Kandy was a blessing in disguise as it meant that we enjoyed the remote and peaceful location - my advice is to visit Kandy before you head up the mountain to the resort - then just stay and enjoy the view and resort amenities.
