Le Palais Averroes - Adults Only

We love this place, it is our second visit! Its a ten room boutique hotel, the rooms are stylish with much attention to detail, lovely carvings and good quality bedding. Gorgeous pool and surrounds and lovely walks down country lanes outside. We got an Uber to Marrakesh in the evenings about 8€. We had dinner at the hotel a couple of times with our own wine. On the first night we arrived late and were able to have dinner at 9pm. We were met and welcomed by Yassin. He is the best thing about this place, he has his eye on all the balls, is cheerful, hard working and friendly. His English is brilliant, I believe he speaks French and Spanish too. All the staff are delightful. He is exceptional.

I really dont like the QR menu and the way the order is sent through to the kitchen - only a few feet away. The food production is very slow despite there not being many guests. Maybe another chef needed? An hour to produce a Caesar salad most days was frustrating, on one occasion the wifi failed so it never arrived… until Yassin got it organised! This is the only weak point. I would happily return to this idyllic retreat.

handelt sich nicht um ein 5-Sterne-Hotel, sondern um eine einfache, lokale Unterkunft. Es gibt keinen Wellness- oder Spa-Bereich, und die Zimmer sind hellhörig. Eine Bar oder typische Hotelausstattung fehlt ebenfalls. Insgesamt ist die Unterkunft in Ordnung, entspricht aber eher keinem klassischen Hotelstandard. Zudem liegt sie recht abgelegen. Für uns war es daher eine Enttäuschung.

The staff were friendly

The service and facilities were non existent. We had to find our own pool towels, ask for hangers for our room.. we even got locked out one day and couldn’t get in to the hotel as the wooden front door was closed and a taxi driver stayed with us until finally someone opened it.

- Hospitality from the staff - Only ten rooms so it's never busy - Very serene, with lots of birds and butterflies

- Quality of the food was somewhat subpar - Mattresses are pretty hard. Comfy for some maybe, but not for me - Manicure did more harm than good. Would not recommend getting that one unfortunately

It was quiet

They had a permanent issue with electricity - every evening it was cut off several times and thus reflected on the water, too. So no shower and no electricity for non-defined period. You just have to wait for 20 min approximately…

The staff were all lovely, especially Yassine and the lovely taxi driver Jamul? Yassine was wonderful,. He sorted out all of queries and nothing was too much trouble. His loyalty to both his clients and his hotel were constantly evident. He is worth his weight in gold! The pool was spotlessly clean, if a little fresh at first,. Our room was clean and tidy if a little dark (bad weather for 4.5 days) All food was freshly prepared and very tasty.

Although our bathroom was large it did smell a little damp, but, it is an old building.
