Emerald Bay Resort Mirissa

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely lovely, friendly, and always happy to help with anything we needed. One thing we really loved was being able to contact the hotel easily via WhatsApp, which made everything so convenient. The location is also perfect, situated between Mirissa and Weligama, with both reachable within 10 minutes by tuk tuk. Overall, a fantastic hotel with great service and a brilliant location.

Excellent hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The swimming pool on the 3rd floor was beautiful. Our room was absolutely massive and the beds were so comfy.The breakfast was a buffet style which was great for us. The hotel is a short walk to both Mirissa beach and secret beach as well as all the restaurants and bars. We loved our stay 😃

Man the Hospitality these Guys Give , totally commendable, literally at every step they are ready to help you with literally everything, no nagging for tips or anything just selfless service . Totally recommended place to stay whenever in Mirissa .

The rooms were a generous size, the breakfast had options and the staff were ridiculously friendly and accomodating! The location was handy. New h towels given to you at the pool and to walk to the beach. Secret beach is only. 600m walk away. There is some building going on in the building but hat did not effect us at all. Lovely AC rooms, super comfy beds and nice and quiet. Pool was very clean. Umbrellas in your room if needed. Hot water was super hot, one of the best in Sri Lanka.

Das Hotel ist eher einfach gehalten, insgesamt funktional, aber ohne besonderen Komfort. Das junge Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit, insbesondere beim Tragen des Gepäcks. Auch der Frühstücksservice war angenehm und ausreichend. Angeboten wurden unter anderem Omelette mit Wurst, Waffeln bzw. Pancakes, ein Obstteller sowie Tee, Kaffee und Saft. Zur Zimmerausstattung: Die Einrichtung ist schlicht, es gibt zu wenige Kleiderbügel, und auch hier trat das Problem mit austretendem Wasser im Duschbereich auf. Positiv hervorzuheben sind hingegen der Wasserkocher im Zimmer sowie der tägliche Handtuchwechsel. Die Lage ist gut: Der Secret Beach ist mit dem Tuk-Tuk oder sogar zu Fuß erreichbar, ebenso der Hafen von Mirissa.

Negativ aufgefallen ist uns jedoch das Verhalten des Hoteldirektors: Für den angeblichen Verlust der Zimmerkarte sollten wir eine Gebühr von 50 USD zahlen. Das habe ich so bisher noch nie erlebt – obwohl ich bereits in über 35 Ländern gereist bin. Zwar tauchte die Karte später wieder auf, dennoch hinterließ diese Situation einen sehr unangenehmen Eindruck. Ein weiteres Manko betrifft das Badezimmer. Beim Duschen läuft das Wasser ungehindert auf den gesamten Boden, wodurch dieser extrem rutschig wird. Die ausgelegten Handtücher helfen dabei kaum. Aus unserer Sicht besteht hier ein echtes Sicherheitsrisiko, und eine bauliche Verbesserung wäre dringend notwendig. Das Hotel verfügt zwar über einen Pool und eine Bar, allerdings wurden wir darüber nicht informiert. Erst zufällig erfuhren wir davon am Tag unserer Abreise, was sehr schade war. Insgesamt wurden uns nicht alle angebotenen Leistungen erklärt.
