Emerald Bay Resort Mirissa

The Staff were lovely.

The hotel is not finished and is just a building site. They are doing a massive extension and construction is going on around the room a lot of the time. The pool is nice but there are builders on the roof above drilling and banging making it far from relaxing and pretty unusable. There is no one on the bar and it just seemed deserted. The hotel has no soul and just feels unfinished. The location is ok, not far to walk to lovely beaches. The breakfast was ok. Rooms cleaned daily by pleasant young men. The price we paid was ridiculous as there’s no way this is a 3 star never mind a 4 star hotel. There’s much better accommodation in better location for much less.

Staff were very helpful and lovely, location of a 10 minute walk to Mirissa beach and 5 minute to secret beach worked well for us. Walk felt very safe. We would stay here again.

Emerald Bay is a nice hotel in Mirissa. It is very close to the Secret Beach and some 15min walking to the Mirissa beach. Room was clean and pretty big and breakfast had some nice choices of international and Sri Lankan food. They gave us beach towels which was vert much appreciated!

We got charged some 40dollars extra from the original booking.com price due to tourist tax and some other charges. It would be great to have the final price displayed already on booking.com when finalising the booking to avoid unpleast surprises.

The roof top pool was lovely.

The area around the hotel wasn’t very nice, particularly after dark.

The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.

The hotel is at the end of town and is a 15 min walk to the beach. There are a number of hotels closer to the beach or in better locations for a better price. The hotel also feels very empty and almost abandoned when there. We didn’t see anyone else staying at the hotel the whole time, and no one was ever at breakfast so we ended up asking to have it on our balcony. The pool was always empty and the pool bar was always shut.

The room was clean and spacious and the pool was a great touch. staff were kind and attentive. The location itself was not in the middle of the town however it was still a short walk to the beach and nice restaurants.

We stayed here for 10 days and couldn’t recommend more for location close to Mirissa Beach and a short tuk tuk to Welligama bay. The hotel felt very safe and our rooms were so comfortable and cleaned every day to a pristine condition. Best of all: the staff - each and every one so friendly, generous and helpful - always happy to assist with any of our queries. The breakfast here is also great! We loved our stay here
