Yashi's Place Sigiriya

The breakfast was yummy and the mosquito net.

There were WiFi and light outages multiple times throughout the stay.

We loved our stay, it's a really good location, right next to a few nice restaurants and cafes. It's a 10 minute walk into town or a very short tuktuk ride. The lovely family were so kind and offered a beautiful Sri Lankan breakfast each morning and even offered to take us to the city bus station. We enjoyed being so immersed in nature as the sounds of wildlife are all around. Very clean room, welcome drinks on arrival. Aircon is a dream. Thank you so much!

That we couldn't stay longer

We had a wonderful stay at Yashi’s place. All rooms and cabins are situated in a very nice garden. It is very close to restaurants and center of Sigiriya but very quiet so you have a feeling of sleeping in a forest. What we enjoyed the most were breakfasts and dinners prepared by Harsha and his wife. It was like tasting all Sri Lankan curry specialities. Very delicious! We also had a chance to see the brand new cabins Harsha has just finished. Absolutely recommended for your stay! We would definitely return if we come once again to Sigiriya.

Die Unterkunft liegt ruhig abseits der Straße und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Trotzdem gibt es fußläufig ausreichend Lokale. Uns wurde geraten, am Abend nicht zu Fuß zu gehen (wegen der Elefanten), mit dem Tuktuk kostet es ca. 300 skr bis zur Kreuzung, wo die meisten Lokale sind. Das Frühstück war gut und ausgiebig. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich. Er hat uns eine Nachtwanderung vermittelt, bei der man Loris und andere Tiere sehen konnte.

Das Moskitonetz war etwas schwierig über das Bett zu spannen, aber es war dennoch brauchbar.

Could benefit from additional useful furniture like foldable luggage racks. There is some sort of slanted wooden rigid drying rack but its useless for putting your luggage on since everything slides off. Wished there were hangers, or hooks on the walls to hang our belongings. We had to put our duffle bags on the floor because there is no where to put it which can be concerning for those who do not want insects crawling into their bags. There is no instructions on how to use the hot water heater in the bathroom to take hot shower. Did not know which knobs to turn. Will take awhile for foreigners to figure out because there was no instructions or demonstration at check in. Walls are thin so you can hear other guests but we always travel with ear plugs. Would not recommend their ride/travel service - overpriced and the driver was rude. The owners own their own travel agency and we thought it would be convenient to use it. We prepaid for the ride service for the entire trip. The driver was paid by the daily rate and was suppose to take us anywhere we need to go. The driver seem reluctant and would recommend that we pay for a Tuk Tuk if we needed to go somewhere in the afternoon. Why would I pay for a Tuk Tuk if I already paid for a full day ride service? It seemed the driver was trying to leave work early and get paid for the full day and this was only the second day of the trip. We brought this up to the owner and he talked to the driver. The driver was very rude to us after. We told the driver we will no longer need his service and requested a refund from the owner. The owner did refund us the remaining unused amount which we appreciated but things just felt very awkward after. We actually found a taxi/ride service from Tripadvisor that responded fast, provided great drivers in clean cars, cheaper than this property's transportation prices, and was very welcoming as Sri Lankans are known for.

Eine schöne Unterkunft mit Dschungel-feeling und Aussicht auf den Lions Rock. Das gesamte Ambiente war ruhig und entspannend und Yashi mit seiner ganzen Familie sehr herzlich. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und wir haben auch das Abendessen gebucht und fühlten uns wie „Jenseits von Sri Lanka“. Ganz besonders hat uns die bezaubernde kleine Tochter der Gastgeber mit ihrem fröhlichen Lachen, ihrer Neugier und ihrer offenen Art jeden Tag aufs Neue begeistert und wir haben sie direkt in unser Herz geschlossen. Yashi hat uns einen Tuktuk-Fahrer nach Polonnaruwa organisiert, ganz großartig, und auf dem Rückweg gab es noch Elefanten am Straßenrand zu sehen. Zum Lions Rock und in den Ort kann man zu Fuß gehen und Yashi hilft bei allen anderen Unternehmungen. Wir empfehlen sehr gerne weiter, vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit!

Located in a lovely area. Its like staying in a jungle but close to restaurants and amenities. Great view for the lions rock. Lovely staff and great breakfast

Chambre simple mais très bien équipée (bouilloire, thé, café, shampoing, ...etc) donnant sur une terrasse commune dans un agréable jardin. Calme. Très bon petit déjeuner. A distance pédestre du rocher du lion. Propose des excursions.

Manque quelques cintres dans la chambre.
