The Fort House

Ideal location if you want to be in the heart of Galle Fort. Property has taken measures to present the history and architecture, but added modern bathroom fixtures for the guests’ comfort.

The wifi is very weak and there’s only one common/guest washroom for the entire property.

Excellent location and spacious rooms

We asked for an early check in. On booking it says we can check in at 12:30 so we tried and we asked to wait which is fine is there was somewhere secure to leave our luggage. We were asked to leave in the open plan reception which did not have any cameras so we waited till the room was ready Unfortunate the room wasn’t cleaned properly and we’re still quite dirty for what seemed like several previous guests. We also asked for an iron and ironing board they didn’t have an ironing board but when the iron arrived, it was leaking and very old.

Amazing location right near the walls. Great staff and good breakfast.

In the back rooms (from the street) wifi doesn’t work. Need to go to the communal space which was a bit annoying.

Purtroppo abbiamo trovato delle famiglie con bambini molto molto rumorosi ed essendo le stanze in cortile abbiamo dormito poco

Das authentische Fort House ist in einer sehr gutenLage. Die Leute vom Fort House waren superfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Das sehr gute Frühstück wird schnell serviert. Ich kann dieses ruhige Fort House nur empfehlen. Bestimmt friedlicher als das Fort Hotel.

Room was dark and a little small and you can hear people in the Halis, but the bed was comfortably
