To call it an oasis is an understatement. It's an absolute beauty of a property, and Ruwan, the caretaker, just elevated our experience from great to sublime. The daily breakfast was sensational, and the proximity to the best restaurants at the Fort means you will be stuffed in the best possible way at the end of your holiday.

This being the first villa I've stayed within the Fort has set such an unattainable benchmark that I know I'm bound to be disappointed at any other villa in the Fort. Ruwan's pampering means no other server will ever be good enough. What amazing problems to have 😂

The place looks even more beautiful than the photos. Wonderful location and the grand house is maintained exceptionally well. The rooms were big, each with its ensuite and very clean. Each part of the house has beautiful old Dutch architecture. Friendly staff; a big thank you to Ruwan for looking after us so well and accomodating all our needs.

When I booked 41 Lighthouse, I knew it would be a special experience—but the stay exceeded every expectation. The villa is absolutely stunning, one of the rare few with a private pool inside the Fort. What truly made it exceptional, though, was the impeccable service and heartfelt care from Ruwan. For example, we wanted to try our hand at a game of pool and noticed that one of the cues was missing its tip. Without hesitation, Ruwan contacted Fort Bazaar and had it fixed within 10 minutes. That kind of attentiveness and responsiveness really stood out. One of the highlights of our trip was a personal tour of Galle Fort with Taranga, an archaeologist whose deep knowledge and passion brought the history of the place to life. It was an unforgettable experience. We loved every moment of our two-day stay and can’t wait to return!

I think this might be the best place to stay in Sri Lanka. That is by no means an overstatement, I genuinely can not imagine a more perfect place to stay. The concierge Ruwan was so friendly, attentive, hard working and above all easy to talk to. He really made the stay at 41 Lighthouse feel special as we could all just switch off knowing that he could organise everything for us if we needed. What is really cool about this place is that it's connected to a luxury hotel, so while you're in a private villa, you receive all the service that you would from high end hotel and more, as there is a concierge there more or less all day. The hotel itself was wonderful and the staff there organised a historical tour of Galle Fort for us and let us choose whether we have breakfast at the villa or in the hotel restaurant, both of which were perfect options. The location of the villa is without fault, you're right in the middle of the fort so everything is walking distance, the are even some small beaches just outside the city walls. Can't recommend this place enough, the pool was great, the pool; table was better, I'd stay forever if I could!

Beautiful, heritage villa right in the centre of Galle Fort. Amazing service, location and facilities including a private swimming pool and pool table. Lovely breakfast and they even supplied a birthday cake for my daughter, and organised a walking tour with a local archaeologist. Highly recommended!
