Taavetti

We had a pleasant 2 days stay in this beautiful and stylish hotel with bespoke interiors and convenient location near the beach and not far from the Galle Fort. The hotel staff Varuni and Roshan were extremely helpful and nice. They helped us with our requests to make our stay the most comfortable. The breakfast prepared by the staff was delicious and nicely served. We look forward to staying in Taavetti Hotel again.

Hotel má krásný design, je tu čisto, výborné jídlo, příjemný personál, který je ve všem nápomocný. U recepce je menší bazén, který příjemně ochladí.

Ve dveřích do pokoje jsou vyřezané otvory, kterými na vás celou noc svítí světlo z chodby a všechno je slyšet, takže se moc nevyspíte, protože vás brzo ráno vzbudí zvuky pracujícího personál. V zahradě u hotelu je kohout, který nás budil každé ráno kolem 6:00 svým kokrháním. Personál byl milý, ale občas na nás působil poněkud chaoticky, jako kdyby úplně nevěděl, co dělat. Chybí nějaký bar, kde by si lidé mohli večer posedět.

The property is new and clean, rooms are large and amazing with good facilities. 24 hour room service and Whatapp chat with the staff for any requirements. Special thanks to Roshan and Waruni for their amazing service and assisting us throughout from the check in to check out. You can at times pet the owners pretty cat.

Even before we left home, the staff at taavetti was responsive and kind and helped us organise a driver who picked us up (and waited for us to sort out an issue with our bags!) at colombo airport with a sign. Upon arrival they were welcoming and smiling and provided us with cold towels and a refreshing mango juice. The property is spectacular with great antique furniture, lush vegetation and a very pretty pool. The arches throughout the property really add to the charm too. They took care of our bags and we even got upgraded to a massive room with a huge open bathroom and bathtub and a balcony with a partial sea view (room 8). The property was spotless and the bed huge and very comfortable. The wifi worked well too. The property is only a very short tuktuk ride away from galle fort with all restaurants and cultural activities. I also managed to book a massage on my first evening on arrival which was wonderful after a long flight. The therapist was attentive, thorough and applied the pressure that I wanted leaving me relaxed and happy. The massage room was beautiful and has a glass ceiling and I could hear the rain patting on it as I was getting massaged. Pure bliss. Throughout our stay the staff was attentive and regularly checked on us and had open line on communication through WhatsApp making it easy to chat and get everything we needed. This was the perfect experience and we would highly recommend taavetti and would love to come back one day!

Such a beautiful hotel and friendly staff. Easy access to the beach ( once you make it across the street), and a lovely hotel kitty!

The road to and from the beach is a little busy cross although a staff member helped us cross the road to the beach. Will be nice when the restaurant is completed

From the moment I arrived the staff did an amazing job, nothing was any trouble and always a smile.. add to this an amazing building and decor you have an amazing hotel. I made the mistake of booking a place in the fort for the social aspect that was more expensive and half as nice in every department, probably forgo the 3 nights in the new place and return to Taavetti, you won't regret booking i promise you.

Not specific to the hotel, mainly Sri Lanka, it's quiet and fragmented, although my other holiday suggestion was Thailand... so opposite ends of the spectrum.
