Hana Lodge

Hanna Lodge was a wonderful break for us to celebrate another birthday. The personal service (especially from Star on reception, who remembered our names the next day) and the friendly greetings from everyone else made this a warm and inviting, up-market lodge. The grounds are substantial and quiet. We loved the quirky Alice in Wonderland touches and enjoyed a walk through the tall bamboo forest to the golden pond, shimmering in autumn colours. Our room was large, warm and well appointed. The large bathroom and huge bed added a luxury that is seldom found in five star hotels. Hanna Lodge was a new experience for us and we will return in a heartbeat.

Hana Lodge was the most beautiful hotel of our entire New Zealand trip. We had a fabulous suite that overlooked the pool, sauna and spa. The breakfast was just delicious.

FABULOUS hotel. A little gem. Staff were wonderful and we had the best welcome! Room was comfy, with great access to pool. The breakfast was delicious, and the coziness of the whole place was perfect. Would absolutely stay again.

A propriedade é linda, localizada no campo, mas proximo ao centro. Fomos bem recebidos, café da manhã e jantar perfeitos. Funcionarios e chef super eficientes. Usamos a sauna e banheira quente no jardim. Jardim belissimo.Muito pitoresco. Voltaria com certeza.

Great team, very kind and helpful 😊! The room was super comfortable, the breakfast delicious and it was nice to have dinner at the restaurant. We also loved the arty style of the Hana.

Exceptionally clean. I run a cleaning biz and 10/10 from me. Level of service was excellent, from the free mini bar ( juices, water, chocolate & snacks - that got refilled on day 2!), to the remade bed and refreshed bathroom on our second day, to the robes and quality linen it was all high value. Loved the breakfast, had eggs bene both mornings with juice, coffee and some melon. The sauna seemed brand new and although it wasn’t obvious how to turn it on ( maybe some instructions on the door? And a little light would be good) it was great once going and in a beautiful tropical setting. The pool was good to cool down in between sessions. There are two spa pools but only one seemed to get up to a decent temperature. The pool area is lovely and would be great in summer too. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful even if the llamas arnt that friendly! About a 10 min drive into town. Comfy beds, big tv with all the streaming services, Nespresso, good lighting, amazing huge bathroom with bath.

I would agree with other reviewers that the caged birds add no value to the place and just make everyone feel sad for them. Time to get them a new bigger home somewhere I suggest. The spa pools - if a place advertises hot tubs they really need to be in top notch working order and super clean as many people book a place because it has these facilities. It’s always a bit disappointing when they don’t quite work as they should.
