"Lovely house in a lovely location"

8.0

Third time of staying in this lovely house in a great location for exploring the N.Yorks Moors. We find the house comfortable, with all the facilities we require. Basic supplies ( washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea towel, milk sachets in fridge) were provided Lovely, comfortable, big beds with crisp, clean linen; ample storage space in the bedrooms and hairdryer is provided. We like having the 2 bathrooms and the option of a shower or bath. (toilet paper provided) The house is a short walk to the main street in Kirkbymoorside where there’s a Spar and a Co-op, bakery, fantastic butcher shop, post office. It is also a short walk to the local golf club – which hosts a great Sunday carvery. The dining rooms of the Royal Oak Inn at Gillamoor, a five minute drive, is well worth a visit.

"Lovely cottage in great location"

8.0

Great location and a cute cottage with very nice bathrooms. Quiet at night with great access to the town and countryside for walks.

Kitchen not really great for a longer stay (we were there for 2 weeks) Pans very cheap and annoying to cook with, one tea towel for a 2 week stay - had to buy some, plus no washing up liquid on arrival. Kitchen stools are very low quality and one was about to collapse. This is a little picky, but we had been spoiled by preceding week's accommodation in N Yorks which had been very thoughtfully equipped and had everything needed.

"Good"

7.0

Very good clean accommodation. Lovely bed and bathrooms. Good location for visiting the area. Plenty local amenities- even a market day.

Although the accommodation was good, there was no table for us to sit around. A washing machine would also have been useful. The boiler was loud at night in top bedroom. Ongoing work next door was a bit disruptive- but this won't last for ever! Would recommend this property.

"Lovely property, would recommend."

9.0

This is the second time we have stayed at Dale End. It is a very clean, comfortable house, tastefully decorated with lovely, comfortable beds. Linen and towels good quality and spotless. We didn't do any cooking so can't comment on the provision if you wanted to do so, however all the basic equipment eg. toaster, kettle, microwave etc are good quality and clean. ( even the crumbs from the electric toaster had been cleaned out before our arrival!) Handy to have tea towel, dishcloth, bin bag, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets provided on arrival. We were able to park on the road outside/adjacent to the house . The location is good, midway between Pickering and Helmsley and beyond. Recommend the Royal Oak at Gilamoor for a delicious meal. and the tea rooms at Ampleforth Abbey are worth a visit, in lovely surroundings, for a tasty lunch ( Both only a short drive from the property) We would definitely stay at Dale End again.

Not having internet provision - something that's expected these days. Soundproofing of the flooring of the top bedroom needs to be addressed. Only carpet and floorboards in place so movement and sounds from second floor bedroom could be heard in the first floor bedroom.
