Excelsior at the Manor House

It was close to the light show.

The picture you show is not the property where we stayed. The “cottage” is about a mile away. #1. NO heat the first night. That’s a big one. Offered another spot but that one smelled bad. Shabby. Overpriced

The Festival of Lights was great!

When booking our stay I thought we would be staying in the manor house, so that’s my fault so instead we got a “cottage”. Its down a dark gravel road in the middle of the woods, there is no curtains over the windows and the windows that had blinds were sagging and pointless. The few lights that the “cottage” had buzzed constantly. If you go for the Festival of Lights like we did it puts you out in the middle of the event and you have to leave and come back if you want to see the full event. We ended up just eating the $150 overpriced shack in the woods and got a room at the Village-Inn Clemmons for have the price and it was a great hotel!

Cabin was filthy. Towels were stained and dishes were dirty. Bugs all over the cabin. Playgrounds were under construction. Pool area was closed. Extremely over priced for what you’re getting, would not recommend with young children. We needed up going to a hotel close by. Oh ya, a pesticide company came a strayed the cabin while we were sitting there. Not even a word was said to us.

Great stay at the apartment! Was perfect for us given the location to the Rise facility and all of the restaurants in Clemmons/Lewisville/Bermuda Run area.

Enjoyed the location.

The beds were super uncomfortable. Smaller than twin beds. Mattress just sat on a spring base. Not good for couples or small children. One TV in the living room was the only nice room in the house. There are no TVs in the bedrooms. All the outlets in the house were unusable, and cords just fell out. Most of them were outdated and not 3 prong. Very minimalistic cottage. Bugs crawling in under the front door. Had a nice rolling glass door that opened to a screen door, but between the two, it was completely covered in spider eggs and spiders as well as the outside of the house. Overall, it is tolerable but not good enough for what we were charged.

Location was perfect for us visiting relatives in Clemmons.

While you cannot actually see the lake (due to trees) as indicated in the ad, it’s a nice quiet atmosphere. The Executive Cottage was very clean but old. Has with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. We stayed one night while passing through town, but it was
