The Lawrence

Struggled to find parking as there was a river festival on, had to park half a mile away and move it to near the hotel at 10.30pm.

The staff were amazing, especially David! Such a beautifully restored home. Breakfast was exceptional!!

The hill to climb at the end of the day. Lol!

We stayed in a apartment called the Poet's Corner. Very quiet, and met all our needs. The breakfast was top class. Plenty of roadside parking after 4pm. Arrange to do the walking tour with the Lawrence. Best £9.00 you will spend.

Both Colin (who checked us in) and Emmett (the manager) were great. Emmett in particular was very informative and engaging. The hotel building has a lovely heritage feeling. The location, while a little out of the main centre of town (and outside the walls), was still within easy walking distance of the centre, but in a quiet and attractive location (once we found it - we initially drove past the hotel a couple of times without being able to identify it, as the signage isn't obvious (although that could equally just have been our inattentiveness)). Breakfasts were very good. The walking tour run by the hotel was extremely good - they only run it if enough people are interested, so we highly recommend expressing interest!

The room was a little cramped.

Wunderschöne Ausstattung, jedes Zimmer anders dekoriert. Hervorragendes Frühstück, für jeden frisch zubereitet. Sehr hilfsbereites Personal.

Das Zimmer war etwas eng.

Stately accommodation in excellent location. Parking on street was easy. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Access to lounge areas a bonus. Exceptionally Helpful staff.

Nothing although there is a small rise to walk to the accommodation.

Small room and double bed. Prefer king size.
