Mountain Goat Lodge

My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our three-night stay: welcoming hosts, lovely room with a spectacular view of the Collegiate Peaks, tasty breakfasts, snacks on arrival, cheese-making class, two resident dogs and a cat (I convinced shy Alice to sit on my lap!), friendly goats, and hungry humming birds and chickens. At breakfast, we had lively conversations with interesting travelers. We made a couple of trips to nearby Salida for dinners and strolls along the river, chatting and watching the surfers. Yes, surfers! I'd love to go back for some writing time with a few of my fellow poets. Thank you, Gina and D'Arcy!

We moved to Colorado 4 years ago from the east coast. We are retired and enjoying exploring all that this area of the country has to offer. We've taken many road trips and have fallen in love with Salida. This was our 3rd visit and the first time staying at Mountain Goat Lodge. I wish we had found it sooner! Best by far of the places we have stayed in Salida. Gina and Darcy have created a beautiful place to relax and enjoy their delightful critters, spectacular views, cozy comfort, yummiest food....and their easy going spirits. They made us feel welcomed and we left feeling so pampered! We were on our way back from Taos this time and only stayed for 1 night. We were sad to leave and will be sure to stay longer next time. This will be our go-to place whenever we visit Salida in the future.

Our host, Gina and Darcy, made our visit most enjoyable. Not only a bed and breakfast, but a working farm with home grown produce, goats, chickens, ducks and a sweet face cow that supply their home and business. We highly recommend if you are looking for a comfortable night and excellent hospitality. We hope to return for a longer visit to enjoy the homemade cheese, fresh eggs, yogurt, goat milk products and the all around best B and B we found in our adventures across Colorado.

Mountain Goat Lodge is an absolute GEM of a bed and breakfast! Located at the base of the Sawatch Mountain Range, this charming inn is home to a small herd of friendly goats, a seriously fantastic breakfast spread and the absolutely most comfortable beds. We feel lucky to have found this incredible place and made sure to purchase their delectable homemade goats milk yogurt (10/10 recommend.) My husband and I cannot wait to stay again!!

Quaint and fun to see the goats

We only had time to stay one night - wish we could of stayed more. The nicest people, beautiful property, and the most delicous breakfast!! Sitting in the hot tub, watching the stars, listening to the animals and relaxing you couldn't ask for a better evening. Highly recommend!!

Only complaint was the mattress. Basically sink in towards the headboard & center, & your feet are higher up. I’d invest in new mattresses. Otherwise, we loved it!!

A unique quaint B&B on a farm. Excellent breakfast of eggs Benedict, fresh goat milk yogurt with fruit and excellent latte.

Wonderful stay! Out of town, country charm. Cozy rooms with amazing views. Animals every!❤️ pleasant and accommodating hosts. Fun and informative cheese making class. Nice hiking trail around property, great for early morning sunrise coffee walk!

Could not have been more enjoyable. The location is great close to everything. We stayed 3 nights in one of 4 Retro Campers with lovely views. The. Goats chickens cow and of course Layla the property’s lovely hard dog Once more could not be better. If you are looking for a country place to hang your hat this is it.
