Downen House Bed & Breakfast

The breakfast was served eloquently, with real silver utensils and beautiful china. Tablecloth and all. First water, juice, and a fruit, granola, and yogurt blend. Then a lovely Quiche. Great conversation with the hosts and other guests.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

So amazing!!! Everything was better than we could have imagined! The amenities and service is soooo far above anything a hotel can offer. Just perfect!

The Downen house is well maintained and run by Scott and Tamara. The hosts make your stay pleasant with full breakfast each morning and respect for your privacy. The home has both charm and character with ample space to sit and relax. Perks include a hot tub and mini fridge (stocked with beer, wine and water) There is also a full bar in the living room. My room on the top floor was perfect- cozy and quiet. I recommend staying here as opposed to a hotel. It’s different and private. You won’t be disappointed

Tammy and Scott are amazing hosts and gave us a very welcoming and friendly feeling. The home is amazing, and they did an excellent job of preserving it. The house is decorated and full of artifacts that enable one to actually see and feel how it was 100 years ago. Their knowledge of the area and era was great, and they gave us very good recommendations as to where to go and what to see. Had we known that before, we would have probably chosen to stay longer. We definitely recommend it to anyone who thinks of staying 100 mils around Pueblo

What a charming, beautiful, cozy and astounding home steeped in history!! The owners are wonderful people, very gracious, and were very respectful of our privacy based on this being a bed and breakfast. The breakfast meals were fantastic and the service just as good. Our room was large, comfortable and oozing with character. We absolutely loved our stay!!

It was absolutely amazing. Beautiful inside and out. I was surprised. The breakfast was probably the most amazing best quiche I have ever had. I wish I could’ve spent more time in the house reading a book or doing anything very hospitable.

The bed was as hard as a rock, not very inviting, and I was disappointed that there was no bathtub. Correction, there was a bathtub, but on site, we were instructed not to use it as a bath because it was an original and had been converted into a shower. I really was looking forward to it. and I wasn’t sure about using the amenities on different floors.
