The Lodges at Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate

The perfect location for afternoon tea. The service we experienced was brilliant reflecting the five stars this establishment has. Our server Raed was truly exceptional. His attention to detail and enthusiasm when explaining the different teas made our day very special. Highly recommend visiting!

Beautiful hotel in a wonderful location. Very well appointed rooms with lovely views of the grounds. Good value for the experience and the excellent service of the staff. Lovely calming spa facilities - Lorena is a wonderful therapist. Will definitely return.

My husband and I stayed in one of the Abbey suites. Room 352. The views from our room were excellent. The grounds of this hotel are absolutely perfect for exploring. The grounds were well manicured. The flowers were still blooming. Our room was perfect.. The room itself was impeccably clean. The bed was extremely comfortable & so were all of the linens. There was plenty of room for our luggage in the room. Lots of closet space and drawers were provided. The chairs in the room were also very comfortable and perfect for watching television, reading a book or just looking at the sites. The bathroom was quite large & very clean. There was a separate soaking tub and shower. The extra large bathtub was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The shower was also perfect. Upon our arrival, we received a bottle of Prosecco as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We also received a bowl of fresh fruit along with a plate with chocolate covered strawberries and macaroons. Everyone of the employees that we encountered were very gracious and extremely helpful. Michael at the front desk was absolutely the best with assisting us with all of our needs and questions. I would also like to thank the guys out front. Cyril & Ruadhan made us feel like we were part of the family. We did dine at all the restaurants at Glenlo. I will be reviewing each one separately. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Glenlo Abbey. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are visiting Ireland.

Very disappointing customer service from such a reputable hotel. I called and paid €65 at the end of December for Prosecco and a box of chocolates to be put into the room of my friends for their arrival on Jan 2nd. A few days after their stay I found that they were never given the gift and I was neither refunded nor informed. I emailed with no response, then called on 2 separate occasions that week, to be told a manager would be in contact, but that didn't happen and no apology given. I emailed again and was told the refund was now processed, 2 weeks after my friends stay. After another week there was still no refund, so I emailed again and have yet to get a response on the status or a refund. I would have expected a lot more from such a reputable and pricey hotel.

We contacted Glenlo Abbey to make an initial enquiry about hosting our wedding. While the staff member he spoke with was polite, the experience itself left us feeling quite deflated. Before we had any opportunity to explain what we were looking for, our vision for the day, or even discuss our budget, we immediately informed of the minimum spend required to have a wedding at the venue. While we completely understand that venues have minimum spends, leading with a figure before understanding the couple felt abrupt and impersonal. As a couple at the very beginning of our wedding planning journey, first impressions really mattered to us. Unfortunately, this interaction felt more transactional than welcoming and ultimately led us to decide not to proceed any further with Glenlo Abbey. It’s a beautiful venue, and the staff member was pleasant, but the initial approach during our enquiry left us disappointed.

I just want to attest to the wonderful guest experience we had at this property. The property was gorgeous - but what really stood out was the service:) teaching service is challenging - teaching people to like other people is impossible. Glenlo clearly hires for individuals that care. Our breakfast host - Raed - was amazing! He greeted us every morning with a huge smile, engaging us, and helping us navigate the property, the extensive menu, and small details like remembering my 80 year old Mom’s coffee order. The level of service Raed provided was exceptional and what makes it easy to recommend Glenlo to every traveler to Galway.

Nice hotel, great welcome from the wonderful staff. Our room was spacious with great views. Christian deserves a special mention, on Christmas night we were tired and full but when he came into work in the bar he was a breath of fresh air. His enthusiasm was infectious and we ended up having a very enjoyable chat. He really is a very personable young man.

Very pretty and warm atmosphere for the holiday season, but rooms need some TLC. Rooms showing a bit of wear and tear. Lobby lounge very nice, but likely given the week we were there, they were very busy and not well staffed. Needed to chase folks several times to request a drink. Not sure it's worth the price, but might be a different experience different time of year.

Loved our visit at the Glenlo Abbey. Had a couple cocktails at the lounge and the bartender Eduardo was great company!!! Glad we popped in. The property itself is beautiful and will definitely be back
