Killeen Castle

Lovely stay, beautiful new accommodation, really comfy rooms. Accommodation is seperaten from reception & bar etc but a short easy walk. Lodges are lovely and the communal space was nice and relaxing. Very golf focused but we still felt welcome even though we were there for the golf! Would recommend for a couples stay as very relaxing and quiet. We had our young daughter with us and while she was made as welcome as anyone else it probably isn’t the best fit for young families.

This is a beautiful place to stay. The breakfast was great. The staff was all very nice and accommodating.

It’s on a golf course so we checked in at the club house. Dining was also there. Slow service. I ordered steak and it was not good. Cheap cut for sure. Our room was about a 7 minute walk from the club house. Not ideal for handicapped ppl but very lovely gardens. Hiking trails. Each bldg had its own parking area and its own entrance to a shared living room area with fridge, fireplace, etc we had a room on the 2nd floor. I think 5 rooms in each bldg. Modern. Spacious. Definitely good for golfers. You pass the castle driving in but you are not near it nor did it look open to the public.

The castle itself was unavailable to tour, but it was a stunning piece of architecture and added so much to the ambience of the property. We stayed in a lovely stone cottage, called "Rose Cottage", which was one of several attached to each other. Very quaint. The golf course was beautiful as well.

Cute and unique stay in some cottages on this lovely golf course. The cottages were lovely and roomy and very nice. Everything was super clean, the bathroom was huge and had a nice shower and a separate large tub. The dinning options were nice as well and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. This is on a golf course but there is an old castle and also an old church on the grounds which was awesome to explore and take pictures of. Very quiet and romantic place and if you are a golfer it’s a plus but not necessary. Not to far from the Dublin area.

We arrived after dark and we found it really difficult to find reception and the restaurant. The site was incredibly dark and the signage unlit. Once we found the reception they were really helpful and the rooms were comfortable and well appointed The restaurant food was ok and the staff were friendly and helpful The golf looked as if it was fab but we stayed as we were visiting New Grange which wasn’t very far away It is a great place to stay if you are visiting the area

Excellent hotel would recommend to anyone looking for a get away and staff were very friendly and helpful
