"Great little stay."

9.0

The comfort of the room and the daily service that the room received

Plumbing was a little noisy and approach to the property at night was dark. Didn't plan to eat there but was informed on arrival that the kitchen was out of ation and was not contacted before arriving.

"Nice place"

5.0

The room was very comfortable, bar was very good

Unfortunatley the kitchen wss closed all weekend due to a gas leak, so no breakfast but there could have been cold options plus tea and coffee. There was tea and coffee in the room but its not the same. The toilet seat was loose we was going to mention that when we booked out, but the reception area was locked and deserted so had to leave the key in the door at 09:30

"A good venue but marred by an unfortunate incident that was not well handled by the staff."

7.0

The Windmill is a very old building with a lot of period character. The bedroom was well equipped and the bed was very comfortable with nice soft pillows. The bar and restaurant areas are attractive and welcoming.

On the evening of our stay they unfortunately had a gas leak in the kitchen which had to shut down. Luckily we had other plans for eating that evening. When we got back at about 10:30 the pub was closed but access to the bedrooms is via a separate external staircase so we could get in. In the morning we were a bit surprised that there was no heating or hot water so we weren't able to shower. When we went to leave at around 8.20am the pub was still locked up with no sign of life anywhere. Good job we didn't want breakfast! We did think that some effort should have been made to let the guests in the rooms know what was going on. If we hadn't been in the bar when the leak was first discovered we wouldn't have had a clue.

De authentiek setting en het eten. De Sunday roast. Echt 100% charme.

"Lovely cosy base for a few nights. Great pub, great staff. Just a shame about the hot water. Hopefully it was just an is"

8.0

Perfect location. Very comfortable bed, had the best nights sleep and we usually don’t sleep well in hotels.

Hot water was a bit dodgy. There wasn’t any on one of the mornings so we had to brave very cold showers! At least it woke us up 😂

"Great stay at The Windmill, quiet village location with good transport links"

8.0

Location was brilliant, room allocated was spacious, great shower, comfortable bed, great value for money and spacious car park. Warm welcome upon arrival

Room temperature, night I stayed was very cold and whilst the bedroom and shower room had radiators, there was no heating on (and no instructions in room that I could find), which unfortunately meant I woke up in the morning uncomfortably cold. Bath towels provided were really good quality however both provided had horrible yellow stains on which was a little off putting and not what you expect (when everything else about the room/stay was very positive.) Shame really, as without both these minor grumbles I would have had no hesitation in scoring 10 on all fronts. On website it also mentioned there was breakfast available, however staff member informed me they don't serve breakfast, which could have been a disappointment for others, but didn't bother me.

"Very Good"

7.0

Food was very Good, breakfast and service could not be faulted. disturbance from the pub below our room was not noticeable to any un satisfactory degree.

The drainage to our room was pumped, so this was noisy. The beams in the upstairs where the rooms were situated were low, so if you are tall, this would be a hazard.

"A very characterful historic pub with very friendly welcoming staff"

10.0

We loved the friendly staff and the comfortable accommodation in this characterful historic pub. We dined both evenings of our two day stay and the food was delicious particularly the home smoked meats and cheese. We also had a home cooked breakfast both days and the service and food were perfect. Our room was beautiful and had a large en suite shower room. The bedroom had a super king bed and two armchairs for relaxing with a kettle and good choice of teas etc. We also had bottled water by the bed and excellent tv channels (Netflix etc).

Nothing - wish we had stayed longer
