Limehome Madrid Calle de Nuñez de Balboa - estancia temporal

It was in Salamanca which is a very safe, pleasant and central neighborhood of Madrid. Fully equipped kitchen. Large apartment with 2beds, 2 bath.

Apartment quality, terrible sound insulation, no curtain/covering on the terrace door which looks from the kitchen to other apartments, ugly building with garbage bins at the entrance, nobody to greet you, begging for the code to get in, the cleaning woman still there after 3pm which is the check in time and still incomplete cleaning, the annoying, noisy neighbors upstairs that disturbed my sleep, calling customer service around 11:30pm to tell them, customer service telling me they would tell them to be quiet, being woken a second time at 4:30 am by the same neighbors...as no one is there to control these type of situations-it doesn't work. I had the worst sleep I could possibly have desired.

The apartment is located in a nice area, walking distance from all the main sights of Madrid - the area also has lovely shops, cafes and restaurants

The photos are misleading on 2 levels : the main photos you see on booking.com seem to be for a large apartment with great windows , a balcony, lovely decoration etc - I realised we had one of the smaller flats which make the photos not realistic - also the furniture is very cheap (ikea, cheap materials etc) - you can tell that there are many flats like this in the building which makes it feel quite mass market - the check in process is long and cumbersome with many steps (I must admit that their WhatsApp support is efficient though)- unfortunately the cleaning of the flat was ongoing as we arrived at 3:05 (check in is supposed to be at 3 pm) - the cleaning lady was absolutely adorable but seeing the precious’s guests dirt and trash was really not the best welcoming moment (it took her about 25 minutes to finish) - finally despite being in a quiet road, and on the fourth floor, the flat is noisy with windows that do not isolate noise well - you can hear people talking in the street very distinctly even from the 4th floor.

Amazing location, facilities are covering the basic need for a short or even medium stay. Very close to metro and the US embassy.

The original apartment was advertised with a terrace which we did not have. We travelled in January and the heating was not enough. We froze during the day and night.

Correct size, very residential yet close to center and everything else we wanted to get to.

The apartment we booked originally was fine but then the washing machine broke down so we had to move across the hall into another one. Both apartments give out to a big school sports field and all day there’s noice. AND there was quite a bit of construction noice in the building. If you come to work, it would be best to avoid This apartment. The following review is mostly about the second apartment - there was not enough hot water for shower, one of the shower drain was clogged and we had a puddle on the floor. So we only used one out of 2 bathroom. The radiators weren’t working nor the towel warmers. When we asked they just said to use the central thermostat but the split units a/c weren’t connected. From the look of the wood flooring in front of the bathroom door and vanity furniture next to the shower, it isn’t a new problem. The lights were very dim and the window screen was stuck so we couldn’t let more light in . it’s advertised as a place “designed” to stay, I don’t see how it is though.
