"Cozy little place with decent food and a fine pool. Only one problem…"

Pros: Price of stay (and restaurant) Pool Food (pro tip: It’s a small kitchen, one chef, order 1h+ before) Most of the staff (especially Vanessa)

Breakfast - Never on time - Never 100% complete - Eggs overcooked - Egg shells in the omelets - Fruit often bad - Ask for anything and you might just get it but not without a sigh and a sad and slow walk back to the kitchen demonstrating just how annoying your request was. This request could be milk to go with the coffee or salt and peber. Bugs (primarily ants, roaches and lizards) WiFi (they did make an effort to resolve this though) Room cleaning, wow… - I don’t want to go in to details as this was maintained by the same employee that served breakfast and the devastating “cleaning” has been addressed to the hotel’s manager/owner. Let’s just say that the person would have been fired on the spot in Europe and fired + sued for defamation in the US. I believe the hotel chose to take action on this matter but if you’re considering staying here, ask! It will definitely be a deal-breaker for a potential stay if this person hasn’t changed her methods or received a notice of dismissal.

"Poor managements and lack of power"

If you are not comfortable staying somewhere that is 30°C indoors, I do not recommend this property. The power was out very often and that meant not only no lights but no air conditioning. The rooms do not have any windows, not even in the bathroom (yes this can be seen in photos) but not something I expected as I’ve never seen that before so there is zero ventilation! The A/C would come on for short periods bringing the temperature in the room down from 33°C to 29 or 30°C before the power would go out again. Sleeping was extremely uncomfortable but even using the room in the day was difficult. We expressed on the first day how hot our room was to staff and they were not accommodating. I am aware the island (especially the north) suffers regular power outages but unfortunately I learned too late the vast majority of hotels have a generator meaning you would not affected! There are even cheaper hotels close by that have generators which I wish we had done more research prior to booking and stayed at instead. Because of this we had to leave our booking 2 nights early and lose the money already paid. We tried to negotiate with the staff but they were extremely unwilling to have reason. After speaking to customer service they assured me the staff would refund the nights we didnt even stay but they have the final say and continued to refuse giving any amount back. On top of these issues, like other reviews said, the hotel is in a very bad location, isolated from any town, restaurants, or beaches. Coming from Jambiani which was so walkable and accessible, it was a big let down. I wish I read other reviews more closely before booking as i can see all recent one share the same disappointment especially with the owner. It’s one thing to have issues at the property but the management has zero customer satisfaction skills. I don’t expect this business will last much longer!

"Vreselijk!!!! Ga naar Malika hotel nungwi zelfde prijs klassen maar wel alle faciliteiten.."

Het zwembad

Wat grote vreselijke bende was dit zeg!!!!! Op de dag dat we aan kwamen werden we heel bijzonder ontvangen. Maar verder zag alles er op dat moment goed uit. Tot je je kamer instapt die vreselijk vies is. Overal insecten op de muur salamanders kakkerlakken, mieren etc. De kamer was ruim dat was het enige goeie aan deze kamer. Bij de douche zat schimmel op de muren zat schimmel overal waar je maar zowat naar keek was het vies. Oh ja en niet te vergeten het gat tussen de deur wat wel 2 cm ruim was waar mensen door heen konden kijken en heerlijk ‘‘s avonds de beestjes tussen door konden kruipen. Wij kozen dit hotel, omdat toen wij dit boekte het een 9 had op Booking.com wat zeer hoog is! Ik weet niet hoe ze hier aan komen. Maar alle gasten die met ons verbleven die waren aan het klagen. De airco deed het niet behalve in onze kamer. Want ze gaf aan dat wij net een kamer hadden die net was gebouwd. Wat heel vreemd is want hij zit in het midden dus dat is echt niet waar. Wij zaten in kamer nummer 2 van volgens mij 8 kamers. Maar even terug komend op de airco. We hebben meerdere malen gesprekken gehad met de eigenaresse die aangaf dat onze airco inderdaad werkt, maar kapot was van binnen. Hoe kan je mensen laten slapen in een airco waar schimmel in zit en waarvan ze wist dat we pijn aan onze keel hadden van de kamer terwijl de airco niet aan ging vanwege de lucht die eruit kwam. Na meerdere malen overleg hadden we van de eigenaresse de vrouw akkoord gekregen dat we ons geld terug kregen voor de dagen dat we niet verder zouden blijven daar. Ik heb contact opgenomen met Booking.com die ook aangaven na alle telefoontjes dat dit niet normaal is. Maar wat blijkt nou ze staat te liegen in mijn gezicht. Ik heb alles volgens de richtlijnen gedaan wat Booking.com van mij vroeg. Maar ze weigerde gewoon om mee te werken. Helaas als het hotel geen akkoord geeft op terug betaling, kunnen ze helaas niks doen alleen een vergoeding van Booking.com krijg je dan.
