Sonder Market Hall

Great location for traveling! There’s two bars walking distance and everything else is about a 10-15 min drive. Rooms are also spacious and clean.

I enjoyed the location, accessibility, luggage storage, restroom on the first floor, security, and amenities. The lounge scent was awesome as well.

There is no shelf in the shower for your own soap or a hook to place your towel in the shower.

Very clean and I like the concept… no receptionist

One night - in and out for CC! Lowest priced hotel when the tickets dropped — thought they had parking — they did not — it was not impossible to find free street parking though. Will stay here probably anytime I come to the city! Very pleased

Had everything you needed

It was a weekend stay and there was a noisy group downstairs so it was had to sleep.

Modern / up to date. Access everything through an app, including storage lockers. Gives you lots of flexibility at low cost

There were lots of little things off where you felt the lack of staff. Ex: My shower door was extremely loud when closed. The hinges were slanted. I heard the weird noise from other rooms and was pretty annoyed until I realized what it was. May be specific to my room, but there was also a lot of noise pollution. Could hear my neighbors talk / watch tv

The overall stay was 4.5 stars for me but objectively I'd say 3.5 stars. I stayed in room 209 which was definitely above the nightclub and the sound could be heard throughout the night. The subway train was also close and could be heard. I slept with my earbuds and had no problem sleeping but I could feel the vibrations from club below. I can see how some people could have hard time sleeping in that environment. The walls were thin and I could smell what people were cooking in other rooms but the food smelled delicious so I was just jealous. The water pressure was great and the bathroom was clean and sizable. The shower floors are slippery and there are no handles inside for holds so some precautions against falling would improve the bathroom. I did have a stomach drop slip for a sec but recovered so don't recommend doing that. Area near by has restaurants and Fulton Market is like 15ish walk so plenty to do and see. Parking is not cheap but you know you're in Chicago. Union Parking was closest long term parking and I had no issues walking back and forth with my baggage. There are only stairs accessible as far as I can tell so be ready for some cardio. Overall pleasant and affordable stay. I will come back but will prefer 3rd or 4th floor options for my future stays.

This was our first time at a Sonder and we loved it. I used the app to ask questions which was very helpful. Everything was very clear through emails and the app, no front desk to check in and out which was nice. Others commented that it's above a club and it's noisy. We live in the city and are used to sleeping in it so it didn't bother us at all but if bass music thumping will keep you up rather than lull you to sleep this may not be the right spot for you. This is close to everything we love about Chicago (mostly good food and the L) visits so we already booked another stay here for September.

Spacious unit.

Parking was a challenge. Unit was dingy and desperately in a need of fresh paint. Sofa was stained, TV required rebooting, food wrappers found in bed frame…felt shabby and unclean. The property is adjacent to L train and less than 300 feet from a nightclub that played thumping dance music past 2am.
