Shose Farmhouse Chalets & Campsite

I stayed at Shose Farmhouse with my mom for four nights, and it was hands down our favorite accommodation during our two weeks in Tanzania. We booked the room last minute on a Sunday evening and arrived just an hour later. Despite the short notice, everything went incredibly smoothly. The staff welcomed us with such warmth, and the check-in process was seamless. Our room was beautiful - spotlessly clean, fresh, and modern, with a lovely atmosphere that made us feel instantly at home. Each morning, we enjoyed breakfast in their charming outdoor dining area. The food was delicious, with plenty of options, and we especially loved the homemade yoghurt made from milk from their own cows (which we also got to meet!). The farm-to-table experience was truly unique - they grow their own vegetables and keep chickens and cows, which adds a special touch to the stay. Although we had a packed itinerary in Moshi, we also found time to relax at the farmhouse, and it was the perfect place to do so. The peaceful surroundings and the genuine hospitality of the staff made every moment enjoyable. A special shoutout to Adeline, whose cheerful “good morning” always started our day with a smile. Benson was another highlight - he took some beautiful photos of us with Kilimanjaro in the background, right outside our room. We also had the pleasure of meeting Ismael, the assistant manager. Such a wonderful person, with a calming presence and attention to detail. He took the time to show us around the property, explaining how everything works and what they grow. He even wrote down some essential Swahili phrases for us, which was such a thoughtful gesture. To the entire team at Shose Farmhouse - asante sana! You truly go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and cared for. Your kindness, attention to detail, and the unique charm of the farmhouse made this an unforgettable experience. Benson and ismail were amazing at accommodating us and even went out there way and gave us a tour

Je n’ai pas pour habitude d’écrire des avis mais lorsque quelque chose est bien, il faut le dire. Nous avons séjourné dans à Shose Farmhouse à l’occasion de notre lune de miel, et tout a été exceptionnel ! Le personnel a été d’une gentillesse incroyable, toujours prêt à faire le maximum pour que notre séjour soit inoubliable. Ils nous ont réservé de belles attentions (un message personnalisé, des fleurs, une chanson…). Chaque détail comptait, et tout a été fait avec soin. Mention spéciale à Ismaël et Benson, dont la gentillesse et le professionnalisme ont largement contribué à rendre ce séjour parfait. Vous pouvez leur faire confiance les yeux fermés ! Nous n’avions pas envie de quitter l’hôtel et nous avons déjà hâte d’y revenir. Un grand bravo à toute l’équipe. Merci encore

The property is conviniently located just before Moshi town with an incredible view of Mount Kilimanjaro throughout the day. The staff are very friendly, professional and supportive.

The protein menu variety is low.

Internet was (as usual in Africa) down a lot. Construction noice was very loud sometimes. Also major tip: don't play artificially generated (AI) music or hang AI art or photography. You hurt real artists by doing this. Opt for the works of local artists and perhaps consider allowing people to buy it. Also the AI music at the dinner and breakfast was uninspiring, we prefer to listen to no music than to that. Other than these points it was nice.

Das Personal war durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit – besonders hervorzuheben sind Ismael und der Hotelmanager. Die Lage ist hervorragend, mit direktem Blick auf den Kilimandscharo – ein echtes Highlight. Die Zimmer sind von der Größe her für zwei Personen völlig ausreichend und sauber. Das Essen war geschmacklich gut und die Auswahl insgesamt zufriedenstellend. Allerdings waren die Portionen beim Abendessen deutlich zu klein im Verhältnis zum Preis. Beim Frühstück wäre eine größere Auswahl an veganen Produkten wünschenswert. Der vom Hotel organisierte Transfer zum Flughafen hat reibungslos funktioniert, Preis-Leistung war in Ordnung. Insgesamt ein angenehmer Aufenthalt mit kleinen Schwächen beim Essen, aber top Service und Lage.

Nous avons disposé d'un grand chalet au milieu d'un jardin merveilleusement entretenu avec tout le confort moderne. La grande piscine est très agréable, avec vue sur le Kilimandjaro. Nous avons très bien dîné au restaurant et le petit-déjeuner est top : grand choix de plats salés, jus de fruits frais, très bons yaourts et crêpes...Le tout cuisiné avec les produits de la ferme que nous avons pu visiter. Le personnel est accueillant et sympathique. L'hôtel a sa propre agence qui propose des excursions. Barack qui parle parfaitement anglais nous a emmenés pour la journée aux Chemka hot springs où nous avons eu plaisir à nager. Nous avons très bien déjeuné sur place et avons eu des discussions animées avec Barack que nous avons beaucoup apprécié.

I'm a person who travels all over the world and have stayed in tons of hotels across six continents. But this hotel is an absolute beauty. If you love to see a famous mountain from your pillow when waking up in the morning, you should come to this hotel. If you like to visit a rural area with farmers working in the field under your balcony, you should come to this hotel. If you don't mind being woken up a bit by the rooster crows and cow moos, you should come to this hotel. If you like to see farm animals like rabbits, chickens, ducks, geese, cows and etc, you should come to this hotel. If you love the beauty both internal and external of African women, the hotel boasts many who are super friendly, helpful and attractive. If you enjoy well prepared breakfast surrounded by banana trees and bamboos, you should come to this hotel. This hotel has many hidden gems waiting for you to find out and I found quite a few. Oh yes, I look forward to my next stay in this hotel, even if the room rate may be hiked due to its many charms.

Well, I hope when next time I come to this hotel the dinner restaurant will be of better value and more varieties. I'm sure it will be.
