Delta Hotels by Marriott Dar es Salaam

Our family of four wished to book up for the Christmas Lunch buffet. I contacted the hotel to ask about options for my wife and daughters who are vegetarians. They assured me that they would be able to cater for them. The chef prepared five vegetarian course just for them and they were all excellent (best Christmas meal ever according to my wife). The chef even took time out of his busy day to come and meet us and check if everything was ok. I had the buffet and it was also very good. There were plenty of options, including a number of fresh seafood dishes as well as the usual Christmas fare. They even had Brussel sprouts!

This stay has been atrocious. The room was poorly cleaned, the AC smelled of mold and there is no hot water after 6:00 PM. Good luck getting service to assist. ​Worst of all, I was subjected to disrespectful and insulting comments made by the reception staff in a local language, under the assumption I couldn't understand them. May not look local but I understand kiswahili. It is unacceptable to be mocked by staff for a simple administrative correction. Anyway...avoid if you can. Not worth it.

Yes it was relaxing and calm we had fun at the swimming pool the food was amazing plus the the bed was comfy and helped me sleep well after a workout in the gym

What should I like -- people who are not following their commitments?!

This stay failed on basic hygiene and facility functionality. The swimming pool was consistently in poor condition, with visible floating insects (flies of different sizes) and foreign particles across the water surface over multiple observations. This indicates insufficient cleaning and filtration and creates clear sanitation and health concerns, especially for families. In addition, the shower in the room had extremely weak water pressure, to the point that normal use was not possible. This is a fundamental room function, not a comfort issue. We reported these problems and reached a mutual agreement for early termination and partial refund, which was documented at the hotel. However, this agreement was later not respected, forcing escalation to Booking.com. The combination of unsanitary pool conditions, non-functional shower, and failure to honor an agreed resolution makes this experience unacceptable and raises serious questions about maintenance standards and guest care at this property.

Our experience at this hotel was excellent from start to finish. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and well maintained, making our stay comfortable and relaxing. Room service was prompt and well organized, and the quality of service was impressive. What stood out the most was the staff, everyone was friendly, professional, and always willing to help with a smile. They made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our stay. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was calm and pleasant, which added to the experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quality service, comfort, and a great overall stay. We would definitely return.
