Victoria Rock Resort

This hotel is rated as a 5* hotel on booking.com, but it is definitely far from that level. The dinner was very simple (to put it nicely) and the dessert was the best - pancakes without filling. When I asked for jam or anything else, they only offered me ketchup or mayonnaise. Only 1 towel was available in the room for two. We had ordered a pick up to the airport (at 3am), but he was late and we had to wake him up. There were a lot of insects in the corridors. I do not recommend the hotel and we were very disappointed.

The WiFi was not available for a day and half, the bed was broken, food ordered too so long 40 mins plus and some times it was half cooked, the breakfast was far from expectation as expect a buffet but need to order every morning which took so long which seemed to be lunch not breakfast.Noise in the morning by the staff woke us up,no room phone to call reception had to go down the stairs(no lift) every time I needed something(provided local numbers to a person with no local lines???? to call reception. TV wasn't working on the day it needed fixing. Only one socket to charge the gadgets had to disconnect the fridge ended up not using the fridge( they offered extension but that never came),water was only provided on the first day. After that no drinking water was available unless you pay which I thought would be a necessity each morning. The list continues.

The reception and staff were excellent and very attentive. They provided amazing customer service and were very ready to resolve any issues or help guests in any way. They have a lakefront property so you can eat breakfast/lunch/dinner directly on the lake if you prefer. The view is fantastic. The location was close walking distance to everything from entertainment to other restaurants and attractions.

The breakfast was okay, the sausages brand wasn't as tasty as I would have hoped, but nonetheless was fine. Also the chapati wasn't cooked to the normal texture that I'm used to. I didn't try their lunch or dinner but seemed to have many various options.

It was extremely loud the whole night be didn't get any sleep. The rooms are not sound proof you hear everything happening outside and in the corridor even doors being opened.

Brilliant location, you can sit, relax and enjoy over looking Lake Victoria. The staff were wonderful, friendly, and attentative. We will be back!

The staffs were very good, but the facility needs lots of improvement in its general services. RESORT??.
