ALVA Apartments Hallveigarstigur

This was a perfect location to enjoy Reykjavik by foot. Literally on top of a grocery store, and a short walk from an endless number of restaurants and bars. We got to enjoy three nights here as we reset after doing the Ring Road, and the extra room was appreciated as we repacked for the flight home. Parking was easy in the neighborhood, and if you go a block further away, you can save a ton by parking in zone 2.

I liked that the area was very quiet as Iceland typically is, but the condition of the property and the apartment itself could have been cleaner. The room was very dusty/dirty. I used my Clorox wipes and it was as if it were cleaned for the first time.

Great Property! Right next door to the Kronan Grocery store, which is perfect. Walking distance to everything. Comfy beds. Amazing balcony. Nice hot tub. Kitchen has lots and pans, plenty of dishes and cups, glasses etc. washer dryer was a nice bonus. I would definitely give this place a look.

Nous avons passer un très bon séjour dans cet appartement. Le propriétaire est très réactif et a su répondre à mes questions avant mon arrivée. L’entrée se fait avec un code, tout à très bien marché ! Appartement propre, assez spacieux et fonctionnel seul petit bémol il n’y avait pas d’éponge neuve pour faire la vaisselle, ni d’aspirateur pour faire un peu de ménage. Nous aimons rendre un appartement propre et là nous n’avons pas pu … Sinon je recommande, si je reviens à Reykjavik je n’hésiterais pas à revenir :)

We received an email the day before stating our room number and codes which was great. Location was perfect. Less than a 4 min walk to Bus Stop 6 for drop offs and tour collections and right in the centre, near Rainbow Street. The room itself was nice and modern however very warm. The radiator next to the bed just wouldn’t switch off so we had to keep all windows open which was no issue however the noise from the street below & car park was not great 3 out of 4 nights. Very inconsiderate people were sat in a car for half an hour periods with music blaring between 11pm- 5am and then from 6am every morning there was what sounded like machinery going for 2 hours. Which was not at all the fault of the owners however not being able to sleep wasn’t great especially with late nights and early mornings due the nature of tours. The bed also only has 1 pillow each which would have been fine but it was so thin. The option of another pillow would have been appreciated but we checked cupboards and there weren’t any extra. Lighting in the apartment was also very poor. Again not a major issue but you couldn’t see in the wardrobe without using the torch on your phone. Overall a nice place, in a great location. We were maybe just unlucky with the radiator and noise.

Un bell'appartamentino, comodo e in pieno centro. Munito di tutto ciò che serve se si decide di cenare a casa (inclusa la lavastoviglie!), cosa non remota considerati i pressi locali! Esattamente all'angolo con la Rainbow street, permette di muoversi a piedi per il centro di Reykjavik e anche il porto dista solo 10-15 minuti di passeggiata.

We arrived at 2am and the code to open the door to the apartment didn’t work, so the hassle to call someone and everything. No soap.

This was such a great location to everything. The view was amazing for New Years! Easy to find, street parking was easy.

Love the location of the property, easy access for shopping, dining and public transport. The downside includes no washing machine and the door doesn’t close properly.

It was a really good stay the beds were amazingly comfortable!! What topper do you use lol? Really clean room and a great location. Easy to get in the building did encounter an issue at first but called up and they answered and resolved it straight away. Only downside was if it is loud outside you can hear it but this was only an issue on one day and other times it was fine
