Jolene's Ashvem

Planned for 2 nights, but ended up staying for several months. The location is great, just 80-100 m from the coastline. Quiet area, but off season. During season I would expect bars next door to be very noisy. So it would suit party people well. Manager Owaiz is one of the best! He is always in touch my WhatsApp and whenever something broke, they were fixing it same day. This is rare in India. The facilities are good and the place is well-maintained. Water filter is the best idea and the little kitchen is very handy. The room had a little touch of the Portuguese design and was pleasant to stay there.

During all my stay I lacked clean bed sheets + towels. I’ve asked for them several times and they brought them to me, but the bedding wasn’t clean enough, so had to wash it myself. This was annoying. I had to enter to the property from the next door house and the dogs there keep barking at me through all 2 months of my stay. This was annoying as we’ll as stray dog problem in Goa beaches in general. For the a/c room one would have to share the balcony with the guests from another room. This is annoying too. During my stay there was a couple with the dog. And this dog used to bark at night, used to jump at me barking when I would open a balcony door in the morning. I think it’s a bad idea that they allow stay with the pets. I stayed during monsoon and in my room the dresser got very moldy inside and my clothes got very moldy too. So couldn’t use it properly and had to keep closed, otherwise toxic mould everywhere in the room, even thought using a/c. I think this problem shouldn’t be there during high season with lesser humidity.

Budget Friendly, Spacious and Quite.

The path to the property is little difficult especially during rainy season.

Jolene's was a really nice self contained studio flat to stay in. The bed is comfortable, the shower is strong, the kitchenette has all you need, and the patio is a nice place to sit and drink a tea :) Owaiz was so helpful and quick to reply to any questions I had. There is a small supermarket 1 minute walk away and Ashvem beach 2 minutes away. You are also a short drive to other beaches too.

It was right across the street from the beach, tucked away and very quiet. The room was equipped with a small kitchen including a fridge and sink and water heater. The staff was extremely helpful whenever I had any questions or issues. Since the location is kind of secluded, there is the option to rent a scooter (I did not do that since I kind of fell sick during my stay). The room was large and spacious.

It’s a lovely little apartment in a great location
