The property is fantastically kitted out with all the comforts you could possibly need for a stay. It was so clean and inviting. Exactly what we needed as a family of 6 staying around Christmas time. The Christmas decorations and Christmas tree were a lovely added touch.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property at all. For our own benefit travel cot and highchair that could be provided would have made this perfect but that is specific to our needs.

Clean, newly decorated, lovely homely feel Smart TV and plenty of kitchen and dining utensils

All in all everything was great Lacking enough towels - and the shower was very small Open fire which we tried to use but needed fire lighters and/or kindling which wasn’t available

Ideal location for Beamish and Durham Good restaurants nearby

Very little info on local facilities/attractions/ restaurants etc (just one Chinese takeaway menu) Steep staircase with narrow treads (We took my 80 year old mum and she really struggled to get up and down ) We think The shower room and toilet is too small as it is the only one in the property It could really do with a downstairs toilet ! We were cold in the evening but we couldn't put the heating on as the owner had locked up the room thermostat

Pros: Really good communication from host. Decorated nicely. Log burner (extra charge if using hosts logs). Milk in fridge. 8 minutes drive to Beamish museum. 4 minutes drive to a really good play park and splash area, by the river. Comfy beds and bedding. The accommodation was really clean. Shower heats up quick, large shower head. Dog bowls and biscuit treats - nice extra. Cons: Oven was broken by previous guest (on request, host was really good at providing air fryers). Beds not great if you're over 6ft tall. Shower area is quite small. An extra toilet downstairs would be a bonus.
