Villa Phonethip Mekong Riverside

Here, I truly experienced Lao hospitality. My spacious room overlooked the river, and each morning the terrace sparkled with sunlight. The free parking made my tuk-tuk tours effortless.

Celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant’s fusion menu (Laotian spices with Western flair) blew us away. Our suite’s bathtub had a picture-perfect view of the river at sunset. Staff went above and beyond with champagne—an unforgettable experience. A romantic’s dream come true.

Despite being just steps from the night market and riverside eateries, the villa’s lush garden blocks out any noise. My evening river-view dinner was peacefully tranquil. Rooms are sound-proofed, airy, and impeccably clean. Every staff member greeted me warmly throughout my stay. An ideal mix of convenience and serenity.

Nothing to do with the hotel but a lot of burning off made the air very smoky in Luang Prabang

I stayed 9 nights here in Villa Phonetip and it was perfect. I had room 4 which had its own private entrance up a little lane way with view of the Meekong. I could sit on my private balcony and watch the sunset each evening ! The location is perfect with lots of riverside restaurants very nearby and it’s only a few minutes walk to the Main Street and night markets. The rooms are large, bright and clean with good air con. Finally the staff could not have been more helpful in arranging a few tours and bike rental. Always a pleasant smile and greeting. I fully recommend this hotel and look forward to returning some day !

We had a very pleasant stay. The room was spacious and perfectly suited to the size of our family. The view of the famous lake from our room was a real highlight, and the hotel's location is ideal. The hotel staff was very friendly and always attentive to our needs, which made our stay even more enjoyable. However, the breakfast was a disappointment. It is outsourced to a nearby restaurant, and the food quality was average. The selection was quite limited, and what really spoiled the experience was the attitude of the restaurant owner. He closely monitored our plates and didn't hesitate to remind us not to take more than one portion, even for items like bananas. It was quite unpleasant and created an uncomfortable atmosphere during breakfast, which is a shame because the rest of our stay was very enjoyable. This was really the only downside of our experience.
