Provenzano Studios

Super friendly staff, we did have to get moved to a slightly smaller apartment because our fridge was broken. Had almost all the same necessities, except no microwave or toaster. Bed was super comfy, especially the pillows.

The blanket was super thin, felt more like a cover for a duvet. And the location was not accessible by car at all, and there were many stairs. Do not recommend bringing lots of suitcases. There is no road leading to the property, although pretty it’s a little inconvenient.

Location was excellent. Very secure. Comfortable bed. Modern bathroom. Able to cook if we wanted to. Large fridge.

Air Conditioner was very noisy. Late check in compared to other properties. 3 p.m

Provenzano Studios were great. I was there fore two weeks and was very comfortable indeed. A modern block overlooking a little woodland area, I woke up to bird song each morning and loved that. I've stayed in other areas of Siena and sometimes you end up with a lot of street noise, purely because of the way noise travels in the city. Here, you have a lot of bird song and church bells and the occasional distinctive rhythms of Sienese contrada tunes as the young men practiced the drum rolls for the various processions you see around the city (particularly on Sundays in June!). It's about 5-10 mins to Piazza del Campo and Via dei Rossi, where you'll find a little supermarket, bars and restaurants, is just a couple of minutes away too. The hosts were very responsive and were prompt at sending someone check any issues I had (namely one with the washing machine - user error entirely! - and the beginnings of wasp nest just outside the window, out of their control but something they sorted out immediately). The studio was very clean and the cleaners popped in each Wednesday to change towels, linen, etc.

Siena is built on three hills and the terrain can be challenging. The apartment block is down a fairly steep one but you can get to it either via some stairwells or a couple of steep roads, depending on which way you go. This wasn't a problem for me - I'm coming back with lots of nice muscle tone! - but might be problematic for those who have mobility issues/lots of heavy luggage.

Great place to stay, great location, quiet area, windows out towards a backyard with trees, nice to have a full kitchen and a washing machine! Good bed too!
