Appalling experience with check-in We were told we'd receive a QR code (which worked as the room key) on the day of arrival (as there was no reception after 6pm on Sunday). When the QR code failed to arrive in my email inbox, it took me 2 booking.com in-app messages, 3 text messages, 3 missed mobile phone calls, and 3 calls to the hotel front desks, and in total 5 hours just to get a simple QR code, which was frustrating and stressful to say the least. Over-priced and poorly-kept room The so-called 'deluxe' room is anything but. Furniture is cheap and hastily put together and poorly finished. The lack of proper housekeeping (if it was performed at all) was clear to see upon arrival: heavy layers of dusty in every dim corner; grime and heavy watermarks all over bathroom; dirty window. There's even a half-empty sachet of shampoo left by the previous guest in the shower (pictured) - it's truly repulsive. Poorly-run hotel & poor customer service The environment outside the room is no better. During our entire stay, the entrance remained a construction site with an exposed floor and random bricks all over the corridor, and the lift was also out of order. Shockingly, we were not informed of any of these conditions prior to check-in or at the time of booking by the hotel. Suffice to say this hotel is an utter disappointment and charging £149 for a room like this surely feels like a scam.

The lift was out of order and I was at the very top. The shower flooded badly as the drain had not been cleaned out.
GBVery quirky property and we loved our one night stay. Extremely convenient for public transport (bus and ferry), shopping, dining, sightseeing etc.,. Super bar with LPs and memorabilia plus a robot to serve drinks! Shame the lift wasn’t working. Quite a lot of stairs and I thought it was going to be noisy because they are wooden and it was the end of Cowes week, but we had a very peaceful night. Can see us coming back to this place for a longer stay.
