Great location,spotlessly clean

Great location, right on the High street.

Cottage was beautiful! Spotlessly clean, lovely kitchen, great selection of towels and bedding. Bathroom is gorgeous and handy having a downstairs toilet too. Owner was so helpful, really nice to have them be contactable throughout the stay. Location is perfect, tucked just off Yarm high street so its nice and quiet, but so close to everything. Would book again without any hesitation

We booked these apartments for a night away for my mams 60th Birthday. Originally, we booked a 1 bedroom apartment sleeping 4, but realized this was not suitable, so cancelled, and booked a bigger 2 bedroom apartment for an extra £80. On arrival at the property, we were allocated a 1 bed apartment, not the 2 bedroom apartment we had booked. We rang the manager, who said there was no 2 bed apartment available and that he had allocated it to another party or 4. He apologized and said he assumed we were 2 couples (completely irrelevant, as we had paid for 2 bedrooms regardless of the make up of the party). Anyway, he was very polite and helped us as much as he could. He offered to bring an extra fold up bed to the apartment, and assured us we would get our money back from the upgrade!... (WE HAVEN'T.. and have had no contact from the owner despite numerous attempts to contact them). The 1 bed apartment we were allocated looked lovely and was nicely decorated. However, it was completely impractical. The windy staircase to the upstairs bedroom was difficult to navigate, very narrow and rickety. There was a abnormally large step up into the bathroom, which was difficult for my mam to manage. The bathroom had no washbasin, so you had to wash your hands in the bath after using the toilet! (bizarre!). Downstairs was again, nicely decorated. The dining table was wedged in the corner and was way too big for the space. You couldn't actually sit at the table to eat, as there was no room to pull the chairs out. The kitchen looked lovely, but had a lack of crockery (only two glasses etc). There was a downstairs loo which was handy, and this one had a sink! Woohoo! However, we couldn't actually turn the taps on as they needed tightening. There was a TV in the lounge and bedroom, but unfortunately the wifi was too slow, so we were unable to watch anything. This is the first time I have been compelled to write a negative review for an overnight stay.
