Terrace Lodge

Well you get what you pay for its clean and tidy basic rooms decent shower and bath though. Just don't stay here is f you want a lay in or are working nights the cleaners are very loud they shout out to each other down the corridors they also allow the doors to slam etc you would thought seeing the do not disturb sign on doors they would show more consideration!!. If it was not for the very very loud cleaners I would given 5 stars!!

Great hotel our host Raj was brilliant, very friendly on arrival and made us feel very welcome. We will be back in the future for sure, very comfy beds and the room was very tidy and clean. Great location and right near Wetherspoon. Parking is a short walk away

I have seen some very harsh reviews on this place but it didn’t put me off booking as I like to make my mind up. So we arrived and the front door window had been smashed and it looks tired and dreary to look at. Had to ring a number to be let in and check in which was a quick process. Had a ground floor room small double and it was absolutely fine!! Comfortable bed, clean and tidy and a clean bathroom. We were right by the main road but still had a good night sleep even with this. For £44 you really can’t complain and if you want luxury then pay for luxury but it did us perfectly fine!

I always speak as I find and this hotel was booked for me as a surprise from my daughter for my birthday. After reading the reviews I was quite apprehensive, however, on arrival we were checked in very quickly and went to our rooms. We had a family room and my daughter had a small double. Our room was very clean (carpet was dirty, but I’m not sleeping on that!) beds comfy, sheets very clean and crisp, plenty of pillows and a good TV. Could hear traffic noise but wasn’t too bad at actual bedtime, in fact I thought the hotel had a very calm quiet feel to it! All in all it’s not the Hilton but that is reflected in the price...I would definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed here on a business trip for two nights. These are my observations. After a hard day at work I thought I’d treat myself with a long soak in the bath. As I reached to turn on the taps I noticed a pubic hair at the base of the shower screen, and there was built up scum around the overflow of the sink...needless to say I opted for having a shower! Also the complimentary bottle of water wasn’t replaced on the second day/evening of my stay. It may seem pedantic but my company paid good money for my accommodation and it’s the little things that matter. The overall aesthetic of the building looked tired, from the broken window in the reception to the ‘anyone found using drugs on the property will be removed by the police’ notice added to the general gloomy ambiance. The saying ‘you pay for what you get’ definitely applies to the Terrace Lodge but in this instance I believe the £40.00 fee is steep!
