"Exceptional"

10.0

On arrival, we were welcomed with eggs, bacon, cheese, freshly made bread, just wow! Best bacon ever. There was a shower and fridge in the barn which added to the beauty of this place! Bruce was so welcoming and so helpful! Wagon's are out of this world, so quirky! We came with the dogs and there was plenty of space for them. We are 100% going back!

Wagons are really close together, so not very private, however fire pit's are set out so that each wagon has some privacy whilst enjoying the fire.

"An absolute gem"

10.0

I'm a bit of a lone wolf so I enjoy escaping to quiet places in nature with the dog and this weekend I found a gem. I arrived Friday 8pm, after work. The directions were spot on and the reflectant arrows really did the trick. Bruce received me very kindly and showed me around. The welcome goodies were an absolute treat! Local produce from bacon to homemade bread, cheese, tomatoes, eggs! Well, you can imagine how magical Saturday's breakfast tasted. I felt blessed and welcome. Thank you sir!! I stayed at the mobile home type accommodation from the 1970's. The deco is super cool. A bit full but it has character and Bruce hand painted some of the features gypsy style. It was all well thought. The mattress is super comfy and the kitchen has everything you need. You bring your own duvet/sleeping bag and sheets which is good 👍 The compost toilet is right behind the van, outside. It's clean and the style is lovely! Next to it there's a shed with everything you might need, including a fridge and freezer, candles, wood... The water tap and washing area is outside the shed. I like the fact that each gypsy van/carriage has its own toilet. That's a nice touch. There's also a fully functioning shower next to the shed. On Saturday morning I opened my eyes to the beautiful, solft valley in front of me. And the peace 💚 Then I had a wholesome breakfast courtesy of Bruce and family. Life doesn't get much better than that. On Saturday afternoon we, the dog and I, went to Hackness. There's a lovely bit of nature by the river near the village hall. We then stopped at the Nag's Head pub in Scalby and there was people playing and singing: violins, accordions, guitars... just lovely. We headed back to the farm for tea and a cuppa by the log burner. There was no one else staying though which felt super private and awesome!! Haha.

"Relaxing peaceful stunning views and just the perfect place for me"

10.0

Absolutely gorgeous Everything about the property was delightful The beds where so comfortable and how it had been kitted out was great Unusual and quirky with everything you need! The views were amazing looking out the bedroom windows and sitting out around the fire pit I came with my mum who’s in her late 70’s and she was so happy with lovely dog walks right on your door step We came in March so it was cold and had a very mixed bag of wind rain snow and sun but the log burner kept us snug Bruce was lovely and showed me how everything worked on arrival so super helpful and we had a delicious welcome pack filled with bread bacon eggs tomatoes butter coffee tea and a few more bits Highly recommend if you like off grid peace and tranquility

Mum would say a comfortable armchair but I would say there was nothing I didn’t like

"Magical!"

10.0

I'm not fan of glamping or camping and the older I get the more I'm attached to creatures comforts, but I needed a break on a shoe string budget, never been to the Yorkshire moors or Dalby Forest and I came across this "Wagoning" in Booking and it seems like a reasonable compromise until we got there! The site is a working farm, holidays cottage and wagon glamping. It has 3 proper wagons and one 1950 converted and upcycled caravan called Gypsy Rose Lee (think of a canal boat style charm but on wheels) my base camp for 2 nights, the site tick all green credentials and is fully equipped with what u need to have the most magical experience ever. Bruce and his family are great hosts and given is in the middle of nowhere, literally, you are pleasantly welcomed with tapas food for a chilled start of a break. The attention to detail and the 1960's Rockers & Ton-Ups vibe blended with vintage collectable bikes and farm vehicles and tools and eco conscious approach and resourcefulness it takes u back in time to a bygone era where fun and joy came from very little. It was a magical experience and I'm so grateful we came across this site. Thank you

"Extremely disappointing 😞"

1.0

The location was beautiful. We expected to be roughing it a bit which was totally ok with the outside shower and compost loo. Lovely welcome basket. Friendly staff on welcome.

The Flies!!!!! Omg …. We were supposed to stay 2 nights for my birthday but on night one when we went to bed the place filled with flies. We used the provided fly spray but as they were dying more were appearing :( we sat outside at midnight while allowed to fly spray to settle again. Even my dog was traumatized and shoved itself under the chair and wouldn’t come out. Hardly any sleep. Dead flies everywhere. Really ruined it. We up and left in the morning. I message the manager and all he was ‘oh dear, must be the change in the weather. Wished me a happy birthday and told us to take care!!! I’ve tried to contact twice since but I’ve been ignored. So upset and disappointed.

"Good"

Location is excellent. Great views, close to Yorkshire East coast. Loved the freedom you have to do what you want and access to all of the fire wood and equipment in the barn. Liked family games nights by candle light. Host was very friendly and informative. Welcome pack was nice and me and my daughter had a lovely bacon and eggs breakfast on the first morning.

Nothing the owners can do about this but the van is very noisy when its windy and it was windy all 4 nights so we were all quite tired by time we left. The van could have been a little bit cleaner inside. Again I appreciate its on a farm but it was quite dusty around the windows, with some active spider webs and dead bugs all around. Final moan was the shower really didn't drain which meant it was quite likely that you'd need to stand in someone elses dirty water. Probably not a big deal to outdoorsy people but was a no go for my kids. Was our first time glamping so not sure what is or isn't considered the norm and have nothing to compare it to. Nothing that would seriously put us off glamping again though. I think the good outweighs the bad.
