We were in is a one-bedroom unit of a large condo complex which appeared to be a mixture of owned and rented units. It is well run but the office is only staffed during the day. There is a communal picnic and pool facilities. Although on the waterfront, it has no ocean swimming or beach. There was a lovely view of the ocean and sunset from our unit. The WiFi was reliable in the bedroom but did not reach throughout the unit. The kitchen equipment and washer/dryer appeared new and worked well. There is a small air conditioner available in the bedroom at extra charge. We did not use it and were at times uncomfortably hot but usually the fans provided made the heat tolerable. The is no shopping to speak of within walking distance. We had a good time and would come here again.

Top floor, no air conditioning if you arrive after 5pm, no a/c, then charge $15/day. No kidding… first time I’ve ever seen that happen. Room was so hot. Room larger and very nice.

We had a fantastic stay at Sea Village in Kona! We stayed on the second floor of the second building and everything about our experience was smooth and enjoyable. The check-in process was easy and the staff were welcoming and friendly from the start. We didn’t encounter any issues that required maintenance, which made for an stress-free vacation. Air conditioning is an extra fee and we were about to pay for it after the first night because it was so hot, but once our bodies adjusted to the humidity, we didn’t pay for it. We left the fans running to keep the air flowing. There are stairs and no elevator that we saw so be aware for any folks who need to avoid stairs. The pool area was clean and well-maintained with plenty of seating and lounge chairs. There are restrooms conveniently located nearby, and while there are only a few umbrellas for shade, getting there early ensures a great spot to relax. The ocean views from the property are absolutely stunning and the grounds are beautifully kept. Location-wise, it’s about a brisk 15–20 minute walk to downtown Kona (places like Huggos and Lava Java), though in the humid heat, driving might be a more comfortable option. We chose to drive and park in the back areas of downtown, where there was plenty of available parking. Pro tip: many restaurants validate parking for 90 minutes, but be sure to get it validated before paying at the lot—if you pay first, it’s too late to use the validation (we learned that the hard way on day one!). Overall, the atmosphere at Sea Village is peaceful and relaxing. There are a few units that appear to be full-time residences—one had a very packed lanai with personal items but they use a shade that keeps the view pleasant for everyone else. We loved our stay and are already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Sea Village for a beautiful and laid-back Kona getaway!
