Kololi Sands Apartments

A quiet apartment on the top floor that has been extremely well decorated with modern and tasteful furniture. The complex has easy access to the Senegambia strip. The beach front is lovely. Access to the neighbouring complex is also available to enable extended options for food, drink and entertainment. Very happy to recommend this apartment.

Reception were exceptional, housekeeping were highly professional and great at the job, security were helpful and made you feel safe. The layout of the premises was fairly good, though they could do with signage in there for guests to know where they are going.

I stayed in Kololi Sands. Let me begin with the sunbeds and umbrellas they need to be cleaned regularly, and they need to be placed in the correct areas for guests to use them. The swimming pools was freezing. This is a fact it is too cold to use. Not sure why it is not a heated pool, but it is too cold to swim in. Could explain why a lot of guests do not use it to swim and if they do realise who cold it is and quickly come out. In Koloi Sands there is a basic food operation called Bistro Sands. However, it was the same specials all week, lasagne, not very creative. Naturally one looks elsewhere. I think common sense would say change the menu. Their is a food and beverage operation located in Kololi Beach Resort, called SALT Kitchen & Bar. Kololi Sands is self-catering with your own kitchen but who really wants to cook when you are on holiday. In the evening SALT Kitchen & Bar is embarrassing and disorganized. There is no leadership, tables are dirty, and staff look lost. The food can take up to 45 minutes to come out. I have been to The Gambia five times and stayed here twice and visited the restaurant every time. Each time it lives up to what it is, disorganize and dysfunctional. If I could suggest to improve the basic service look at your food menu, reduce it to a manageable number of items, hire more chefs and get someone in there who knows what they are doing. I have booked again to stay but I only use the restaurant in the daytime, as they make less mistakes. In the evening it is embarrassing to eat in there, so eating out is the only option. I say this because I am not the only person that feels the same and I am aware they know of this, because guests complain frequently. The interesting thing is when I did eat out, I found myself twice sat with guests from the resort, who also had the same issues. Food and beverage is a big let down. No business can turn down money and tourism is slowing down, they need to get a grip on this and take...

Really enjoyed our stay at Kololi sands. The staff are friendly. The pool and beach space is relaxing and the apartments are great. They are cosy, clean and comfortable and perfect for families. There were 3 major downsides to our trip- the pool private to our apartment was freezing and was never in the sun. This made us not utilise it at all. The communication prior to our arrival was really bad and at times border line rude from those who were managing the WhatsApp number. If it was not for the amazing Foday who addressed it all, I am not sure I would felt positive about the upcoming trip. Would really encourage the establishment to train the reception staff and ensure that the number managed is always online or identify parallel ways for incoming guests to communicate. Finally, I had the most horrible beeping from the electricity box outside our apartment throughout the entire stay- this could not be addressed and seems to be a result of the different management within the apartments. That said the bistro food was great and a special shout out to Mallang and Zainab at restaurant and Ahmadou by pool side. The warmth and the comfort of the place made all the challenges seem irrelevant.

Well furnished, very comfortable apartment. Gardens very well looked after Fabulous location for restaurants and beachfront Apartment had terrace furniture, comfortable Kitchen well equipped but we only cooked breakfast Pool bar nice

The rubbish just outside apartment on the beach, staff paid no attention even though they sat there all day doing nothing, not helping move ( very shabby) beds ( security staff) could clean area as part of showing pride in area representing Kololi sands Other residents not respectful of our terrace, walked straight through instead of path, and not respecting times for quiet, parties. Security did nothing Other apartments seemed to be used for large (very large) groups. We had no sun on our apartment, in the shade all day (901) so if you like the sun choose opposite side.

Het ziet er mooi uit, maar van dichtbij vallen ook dingen tegen: lakens met gaten of delen gelijmd, we hadden een plafond met lekkage. Verder is het bed niet super groot, dat is jammer. Barpersoneel is niet vriendelijk, en efficiëntie en westerse hospitality kennen ze nog niet echt (misschien ook niet verwachten). Tot slot deed wifi het niet en hierbij werden we ook niet geholpen! Wel mooie locatie, fijn zwembad, lekker balkon
