"A beautiful chateau just outside Léognan with restaurant, wine tasting and spa."

9.0

A beautifully restored chateau with lovely interiors in a glorious quiet setting on their own vineyard. The staff were very helpful, we enjoyed the wine tasting, the spa and the on site restaurant. Electric bikes available to visit the local wineries all within easy distance.

We should have been more organised and booked the electric bikes in advance.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with our family to celebrate a birthday and our 50th anniversary."

Charming setting in a beautiful forest area near Bordeaux. Lots of trails, and amenities, with wine, tasting tour and spa packages. Service was excellent. Breakfast and dinner options are available in beautiful settings.

"Very Good"

Location was quite remote. Enjoyed the wine tasting

Disappointed that no tables were available for dinner in the restaurant. Especially as it was a Monday night and nothing else around was open. I think for the prestige stay tables should be kept for residents.

This was by far the nicest location that we stayed at while in France. Staff was excellent, and the food was excellent. It is remote, so plan for extra travel times if going into town.

"Beautiful chateau but needs a bit of thought given to service."

7.0

The hotel was lovely, room was quite spacious and comfortable. Coffee machine provided, though you had to move the bedside table to get access to it. Good bathroom with walk-in shower and separate toilet. The food in the restaurant was good and tasty with a decent selection of wines. Umbrellas are provided in the rooms as there was an external stair to access the rooms which were a short walk round the back of the main chateau entrance and the restaurant which was in a separate building.

No USB ports, which you would expect to see in a reasonably recently opened hotel. I hope they consider this in the proposed extension. Although the room looked spacious, there was quite a large area that was unusable because of the low ceiling. My husband kept banging his head whenever getting up from the chairs or doing anything around the desk and he’s not overly tall! We were in room 13. The breakfast is €25 per person extra and although there was a good spread of pastries and other continental goodies, the omelette I ordered was awful. It’s probably the worst omelette I’ve seen! The coffee machine in the breakfast room didn’t work well and had to be taken away briefly to be sorted. You were left to work out how to use the machine and I ended up having to ask other diners what to do! The French don’t seem to do coffee that well and when staying in an upmarket place you would expect better. I don’t want to have to make my own coffee when paying so much for breakfast! We skipped breakfast on our second morning because it just isn’t good value when you only want a good coffee and croissant! If you’re using the spa you have quite a walk in your dressing gown through the woods and if it’s raining you would have to get the concierge to take you in the golf buggy.
