Beautiful Design, but Not Worth the 5-Star Price We stayed at this hotel for two nights last weekend. While the property is visually impressive, in my opinion it does not offer a level of service that justifies either its 5-star rating or the high price per night. Overall, I would consider it a very nice 4-star hotel, but not a true 5-star experience. Starting with the positives: the renovation has been done beautifully. Everything feels new, modern, and well designed. The architecture and interiors are elegant, and clearly a lot of attention was paid to aesthetics. One highlight is the large indoor swimming pool, which is long enough for proper swimming and suitable even for experienced swimmers. The in-house restaurant is also very stylish and refined; dinner there was excellent and lived up to a fine-dining, almost Michelin-style experience.

In a 5-star hotel, one would expect at least a small welcoming gesture—such as a welcome drink or some form of hospitality upon arrival. Nothing was offered, which immediately set the tone. The spa area was also underwhelming for a hotel of this category. It consisted only of a sauna and a few small jacuzzis; there was no Turkish bath, which in my opinion is a basic feature for a 5-star spa. In addition, there were no refreshments at all—no herbal teas, no fruit, no small snacks. Considering the price paid per night, I would expect at least some small “coccole” for guests. The spa kit was also disappointing: instead of a proper spa bag, we were given only a small pouch with flip-flops. This made it very inconvenient to carry a bathrobe or personal items to the spa or pool area. Luckily, I had my own large bag with me, but this is not what one expects from a luxury hotel. The room design, while visually appealing, lacked practicality. The wardrobe space was very limited for two people. The hangers were uncomfortable and poorly designed, fixed inside the wardrobe and not practical to use—clothes kept falling off. It felt like aesthetics were prioritized over functionality, which is surprising in a hotel of this level. Unfortunately, sleep quality was very poor during our stay. Despite the recent renovation, there was a constant and loud noise coming from the heating system throughout the night.
