Peak District Old Forge House in Over Haddon

Great location, so quiet, loved listening to the sheep and birds and the morning visits from the little dog down the road! Lovely and comfortable inside.

Little kitchen bits like oil etc would have been helpful but didn’t bother us too much.

Quiet location in Garden of main house. Safe Parking.

Shower in bathroom very slippery so needed a shower mat. Bathroom could have been cleaner in the joins looked grubby and toilet brush holder looked unsavory. Couldn’t get the dishwasher to work.

Close to another property, felt a little overlooked

The design of the property inside is very neat. The location is good, near to Bakewell and Buxton. Lovely walks from the village. Quiet location. Lovely bathroom, comfortable bed and bedding. Lovely lighting and decor. Excellent how dog friendly it was! Great coffee machine. A couple if starter pods would be great. Friendly host.

The property was not private. Seeing the neighbouring backdoor from the bedroom was very intrusive. Suggest to screen the property from the main house to provide privacy. Essentials like salt, cooking oil, papertowel and a scourer would have been appreciated and increased the score. Patio and garden were untidy. A quick/regular clean would round off the overall look. Cobwebs and poor quality oven dishes (pots and pans) were noticeable. Dishes weren't spotless. Information folder absent.

A peaceful location, just 5 minutes drive from Bakewell, and a friendly pub with food and stunning views within 10 minutes walk. The Old Forge has a well equipped kitchen area and good shower. Special mention to Joe who gave a warm welcome and happy to answer any questions about the local area. We look forward to visiting again.

A bit of a pain watch to TV via internet, but we are not of that generation & it was not really an issue.
